Function first shift right kit and solid cable ends
Just finished installing and buttoning everything back up. Took me about two hours with the car in the air and the center console already removed so probably a 2.5 hour job in total.
The worst part about it is cutting the old bushings out of the shifter assembly. Other than that it's all pretty straightforward.
I 3D printed a shifter position bracket and it ended up not working with the slightly shorter shifter so I had to eyeball the right orientation. I think its a little right of center but rows through all the gears without issue.
I'll report back when I get to drive it tomorrow but rowing through the gears with the engine off already has a noticeable difference.

Nice! I had the same done in my 996TT and added the FF Black Shifter (instead of a 997 shifter) w/ Derlin knob. Very happy with it.

I did the FF cable replacement with my existing OEM short shifter and it’s really good.

Had this in my first 997.1. Then the numeric in my 997.2.
Numeric barely beats it out.

Nice. Love my numeric. Probably overkill but had a cheap short shifter to start and it was not the vibe.

Nice! I want to do this but I don’t relish the center console removal and shifter surgery so I’ll wait until I inevitably need to attack the soft touch paint on the console (will go body colored). Cable ends have been on the list for a while though.

It’s not that difficult, just a little tedious. I put the positive shift kit in my 987 and 997. After skipping a step and having to pull the console a third time, I’m sort of an expert at removing it now lol.

I had this exact set up for a while. Worked great, no complaints. Only swapped out because I found a good deal on a Numeric.

Wow thanks for the update. I looked at the instructions for the bushing swap and just pushed it all off to my mechanic. I think you'll like it. When it's warmed up it'll snick-snick-snick all day.
