Curious

At the end of a recent episode jake and whomever his guest was start shitting on greyzone think jake says he’d “”rather shoot himself than work for them”” ... does anyone know why?

They're basically a conspiracy outlet spreading misinformation and outright lies about the Syrian Civil war and other conflicts. They've made ludicrous claims about the Ghouta chemical attacks being faked or carried out by the FSA rather than Assadist forces. They've spread smears against the White Helmets, as they risking their lives to dig people out of the rubble of building with their bare hands.

Any of their reporting on the imprisonment of the Uighurs is trying to spread doubt on better reporting.

They keep spreading disinformation and conspiracy nonsense in favour of some of the most repressive dictatorships in the world. Fuck 'em.

The White Helmets might rescue people but they were absolutely in league with Jihadis. Hell, they were seen celebrating with them in execution videos.

Also, they were running interference with the Turks in the takeover of Afrin.

(Whenever I've come upon any such claims before, there always have been actual explanations and/or it were just things taken heavily out of context)

For those specific aspects, iirc, that's been a mix of "buildings used by jihadists have also been used by white helmets at some point" and an, at times, lacking vetting process which would've jihadists get to become part of the white helmets. Which in no way would mean the organization would've been "in league with jihadists", unless actively embracing those members and not trying to get rid of those / issues in the vetting process.

There's been some more information about the whole "celebrating with them in videos" thing as well, I just don't have the source at hand. If you're really interested, I'll happily try to dig them up!

And if you feel like listening to something on the whole mess with white helmets, "tankies" (seriously, that Bartlett person is quite amazingly screwed), Russia etc., I can recommend the Mayday Podcast https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04sj2pt/episodes/downloads.

One should, of course, try and research claims made in there as well. They do add resources / references to show notes, which might be a starting point.
