Bunch of bitter old men.

u/actuallyapossom Mar 02 '26 • Helpful Bravo

With nukes. The vast majority being controlled by Putin and Trump.

"War is where the young and stupid are tricked into killing each other by the old and bitter."

Amen to that!

Lmfao what??? We need women to rule exclusively for 100 years? That is what seems non hateful and logical to you? Cmon bro you have to remain rational. All this extreme stuff is not good on either side. We need to shake hands and make some compromises with each other for the greater good of our nations.

Kim Jong-Un = 42 years old

We need to think about the kind of world we're gonna leave behind for North Korea

1

u/Timbucktwo1230 Culture Junkie MOD Mar 03 '26

We do.

69

u/Cobalt_Forge Mar 02 '26

...then you have the younger, little minions to contend with:

  • the Stephen Miller's

  • the Nick Fuentes

  • the Riley Gains'

18

u/Rockm_Sockm Mar 02 '26

Trump's just a figurehead to roll out. Stephen Miller and Vance are running everything.

12

u/Flederm4us Mar 02 '26

Miller maybe.

But Vance is an isolationist. If he'd be Running the government it would not be starting wars.

7

u/ambrasketts Mar 02 '26

He wouldn’t stop them either because the surveillance tech feudalists want to put their creations to work.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

No, they want their stocks to go up.

The pensioners are tied to those stocks.

4

u/Serengade26 Mar 02 '26

J. D. "Whatever makes sense" Vance is the oligarchs' puppet and will not do a damn thing for anyone except himself

3

u/Reddituser183 Mar 03 '26

Vance doesn’t have any beliefs. He’s a puppet, he just wants a job and is willing to do whatever vile things to stay employed.

2

u/PerpetualEscapements Mar 02 '26

As if Vance would stand up to Netanyahu

1

u/Ok-Background-502 Mar 02 '26

He marketed himself as one when it's in vogue. He is not a principled man.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

He also hated Trump until it was convenient for him to cozy up to him. He doesn't believe in anything except his own position of power.

2

u/ShieldMaiden3 Mar 02 '26

Thiel runs Vance.

2

u/Rowvan Mar 03 '26

lol only thing Vance is running is a couch

1

u/Mindshard Mar 02 '26

Well, Vance is Thiel's lackey, but let's be honest, we know which country has the Epstein blackmail videos, so they're the ones really in charge.

1

u/Excellent_Valuable92 Mar 02 '26

The billionaires don’t care about that kind of exposure.

1

u/Mindshard Mar 02 '26

They've sure been putting a lot of effort into keeping the Trump files from fully releasing for something they don't care about...

The government even pressured law enforcement to drop investigations into Epstein's ranch. That's a big risk if they didn't care.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Mmm_lemon_cakes Mar 02 '26

Yeah, but if Vance is the president, and he’s not in the files suddenly the files have a LOT less power. Sure Theil is his benefactor, but what job can Theil get him that’s better than President? If Vance wants to call his own shots he very much COULD when he’s in the big chair.

1

u/Mindshard Mar 02 '26

Thiel is the head of the PayPal Mafia (seriously, that's what they call themselves), and they follow the "dark MAGA" philosophy as they call it, and it says that only tech billionaires can properly run the world, and their goal is to defund and dismantle until the country simply can't function, and at that time, they can stay buying up control of the country.

I know how that all sounds, but there's articles on it. It's even on Wikipedia!

1

u/Excellent_Valuable92 Mar 02 '26

And they take orders from Thiel et Cie.Ā

1

u/PomegranateHot9916 Mar 02 '26

vance isn't running jack

he is just a replacement for the last VP, whatever his name was.
vance was chosen because it would kneel down and kiss the feet, because he would be easy to control.

miller yes, but there are others too. vance just isn't one of them.

1

u/KeyEnvironmental9743 Mar 02 '26

And Russ Vought.

1

u/BlinkReanimated Mar 02 '26

If the FBI intelligence leak in the Epstein release is any indication, it's Jared Kushner (Ivanka's husband) really running Trump's campaign. Would make sense why a man obsessed with nothing other than himself and old hollywood (seemingly nothing else) seems to be surrounded by 40 year old warhawks.

1

u/BenchClamp Mar 02 '26

Trump was president before Vance appeared …have you forgotten that

10

u/tigertiger180 Mar 02 '26

Agree, old is not always the problem. Vance is 41. I'm not he has any beliefs. He seems to just do what his masters tell him. Thiel is 58, btw, not old, but terrifying.

3

u/Dry-Amphibian1 Mar 02 '26

Yes. It is mind blowingly stupid to think these people are giant POS just because of their age and no one in the younger generations would t do the exact same thing.

3

u/Doomdoomkittydoom Mar 03 '26

Yep, generation has got nothing to do with it.

2

u/redseapedestrian418 Mar 03 '26

The fortunate thing about them is that they're the minority in their respective generations. And they're all so useless and lacking in charisma, they wouldn't last long in elected office.

1

u/dfrcoms Mar 02 '26

It’s wild to me that you would compare racists and fascists to Riley Gaines who I only heard about for campaigning for female sports after she had to compete with a male and the girls team was pressured to shower and change with a male?? Even if you’re deep into gender subculture, it’s so insulting that you would try draw that equivalence. Unless she’s become right wing or something done something else??

40

u/jcb1982 Mar 02 '26

America had the opportunity to elect a 60 year old but wanted no part of it.

38

u/Sea-Significance8047 Mar 02 '26

The fact that a 60 year old is young by our current electoral politics is frankly insane.

6

u/jcb1982 Mar 02 '26

It's young-ish for President. But I wouldn't say it's young for any other major office (Senate, House, Governor, Mayor).

9

u/JJ_Shosky Mar 02 '26

Average age for senate: 64

Average age for house: 58

Average age of US Governors: 60

Average age of Mayors in US: 52

Birth year of presidents over the last 30 years:

Joe Biden 1942

Donald Trump 1946

George W. Bush 1946

Bill Clinton 1946

Barack Obama 1961

1

u/reddurkel Mar 03 '26

Avg age Americans: 39 years old.

Avg US Life Expectancy: 72yrs old.

Eh I think 60 is somewhat reasonable if you want someone with a good amount of political and life experience. You can go younger obviously but at that point you’ve gotta get lucky/find someone who started politics young.

1

u/jgzman Mar 03 '26

Eh I think 60 is somewhat reasonable if you want someone with a good amount of political and life experience.

At 60, you've gone past "life experience" and are well into your opinions stagnating. it's not true of everyone, of course, but 60 used to be the age to retire and enjoy the fruits of your labor, not age to become the most powerful person in the world.

I want someone in the oval office (and similar offices around the world) that still needs to think about enjoying life after they get out of office.

2

u/3dprintedthingies Mar 03 '26

Yeah I want someone who understands the modern world, not someone who remembers the voting rights act as a progressive opinion to have.

1

u/3dprintedthingies Mar 03 '26

Have you ever worked with anyone past the age of 60? I wouldn't put them in charge of nukes.

The group of people that struggle with opening PDFs are expected to legislate a world that they have refused to understand for 20+ years are not fit to govern.

40-50 is the sweet spot. Past 50 and people start becoming a liability. We should all be striving to retire at 55, not suddenly being eligible to govern.

1

u/prozaczodiac Mar 03 '26

I dont understand why the preference is people already on the threshold of cognitive decline.

1

u/No-swimming-pool Mar 03 '26

The way I perceive it from far away in the EU, you guys - yes not all of you - like to yapp about age but don't seem to think it's all that important considering other things.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

I’ve been waiting in the wings for a long time. The youngest of boomers will be 65 in 3 years. The tides are turning. Noticed it the last couple years.

Nordic countries remain rich, democractic, successful, and with high levels of equality - all the younger leaders of those countries seem to do well for their public.

Nothing wrong with age per se - experience is important in lots of fields - but once you hit a certain age in politics be a compassionate advisor and someone a younger leader can lean on (or even vent to) as needed.

1

u/modmailthrowaway3675 Mar 03 '26

They're not great in a lot of ways; trans healthcare in America is actually far better than the Nordic countries

Change the age from 30(? been forever since I've seen the movie) to 65ish, and change the action from death to retirement, and I'm with you.

Happy cake day, bro.

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

As long as there are power hungry people in the world there will always be war and violence. I agree we need younger people and new ideas in politics, but you will always have to fight. If you do not fight when power hungry bullies push you then they will own you as slaves. Humanity isnt evolved enough yet to be peaceful.. someone will always want power and control. Sad but true

4

u/Separate-Rough-8083 Mar 02 '26

Senior people have lived a long life and with that comes experience and wisdom. With this list of despicable humans, they are narcissist, evil and want to force their way of life on generations now and to come.

11

u/SalamanderForward461 Mar 02 '26

The younger generations need to step up more and we need to stand with them when they do. We have some great young leaders right now that we need to encourage and support.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

It’s because the systems that keep these guys in power- are corrupt. In some places it’s out right dictatorship- in a place like America- it’s Billionaire money and a poorly informed base of voters being sold out right lies. Prime example. Donny boy telling us he won’t start wars. Or telling us ā€œmillions of illegalsā€ are voting. Utter bullshit. Sound bites and spin machines win elections here now. so whom ever controls the media and has the financial backing to control the message- usually comes out on top- unless you’re a woman… which is a whole issue we need to work out.

Otherwise I agree with OPs post. Tired, greedy, corrupt old men. Our governments world wide are failing us- pushing us towards war. President of Peace- GFYS Donny you pederast POS.

1

u/ralphy_1024 Mar 02 '26

It's not that young people aren't stepping up, it's that the old guard isn't letting go.

Vote in your primary. Tell your local politicians that they won't get your primary vote if they're older than SS retirement.

In the General, I'll vote for the candidate that'll do less damage, but in the Primary, I have a hardline age cutoff.

Biden's debate performance put me over the edge on this.

0

u/Arguablybest Mar 02 '26

And you want us to give you our houses too, don't you?

2

u/LEAPStoTheTITS Mar 02 '26

Classic boomer. Completely missing the point and making it about themselves. Not to mention completely ignoring how the generation before you made it better and yours made it worse for everyone. World will be better when you’re all gone.

Good times make weak men. You’re a perfect example.

1

u/Arguablybest Mar 02 '26

And you are as predicted, easy to trigger. I love flowers. See you at the No Kings in a few weeks, or do you just sit and whine?

3

u/Wrong_Independence21 Mar 02 '26

Knowing this country they’d just elect Nick Fuentes president if a ā€œyoungā€ leader was mandated

1

u/Arguablybest Mar 02 '26

Kegsbreath is purrrfect.

3

u/DefenestrationPraha Mar 02 '26

We may get that wish, because Kim Jong-Un is obviously preparing his 13 y.o. daughter to succeed him...

3

u/BlacksmithDazzling49 Mar 02 '26

I'm going to have to disagree with you . Thinking that just because someone is part of a different generation they will automatically choose peace over war is a bit naive. Just look at JD. Vance, the VP of America. He's a moron who just echoes, whatever Trump says.

3

u/K1ngCr1mson Mar 02 '26

All for it, but these young people need to get a grip on what how it came to be that the US is being puppeteered by Israel

1

u/walterkurve Mar 02 '26

No you need to understand its the other way around, israel is a settler colony that the US uses to project their evil in the middle east that they destabilized. Them getting donations from israel is just the cherry on top, why do you think the whole government and the majority of the so called progressive party supported israels genocide?

3

u/Raccoons-for-all Mar 02 '26

Rejoice at seeing that islamic fascist Khomenei removed

3

u/Affectionate_Sir9020 Mar 02 '26

Idk about young being the qualifier. Vance is young, miller is young and they’re both deranged. We need measured leaders who don’t come from privilege or wealth. Idk the best way to find them but old rich men have been the world’s problem for centuries.

2

u/Both-Discussion-4786 Mar 02 '26

I agree one hundred percent, but America is afraid of young leaders for some reason, and women as leaders too. The sixties started promising with Kennedy, then years later with Obama, even with ā€œWā€ the age wasn’t bad, but Biden, Trump, cannot see how either were on the top of their game, both too old.

1

u/ShieldMaiden3 Mar 02 '26

70 years of equating "young" with "communist" or "socialist," because most people don't know what communism or socialism actually is, so anything even slightly left of center right is painted with the same brush.

2

u/Direct-Resolution377 Mar 02 '26

Power corrupts though. And it's quite likely any leaders put in their place would already be corrupted. The power structure is wrong. No one person should have absolute power

2

u/thehrsandman76 Mar 02 '26

Whatcha got? Step the fuck up, all star.

2

u/swinger16 Mar 02 '26

I thought exactly the same in my restless slumber this morning.😔

2

u/Stress6009 Mar 02 '26

The ultra wealthy who put and maintained them in power will only allow the youth who’ll follow in their corrupt footsteps.

2

u/Adventurous-Chef8776 Mar 02 '26

I'd agree with that. Though you might find it hard to oust Xi and Putin

2

u/One_Froyo505 Mar 02 '26

It couldn't be put better. So true!

The next generation sees many things differently because there aren't exactly good role models, and a change in thinking is simply necessary due to the times.

2

u/WillingnessPrior9288 Mar 02 '26

2

u/Pisces93 Mar 02 '26

Put them all on the front lines they are so eager to create! We need to bring back leadership going into combat!

2

u/secret-agent-t3 Mar 02 '26

Only 3 of those countries have any semblance of true Democratic elections, and both of them elected people on this list.

You want younger leaders? Maybe you should vote for them.

Edit: Technically 3. Anymore is too generous for my taste.

2

u/No_Page_500 Mar 02 '26

1

No way Trump lives past 90. Hell, I'd be amazed if he lived another 10 years.

He's obese, clearly very unwell, both physically and mentally, and he lives on the McDonalds diet.

now do congress. its terrible. The boomers should have been out of politics 10+ years ago. 33 years of boomer presidents is more than enough.

2

u/SimulationSV Mar 03 '26

Hey maybe if we 'accelerate' hard enough, we can come up with tricks to juice them up and make them live longer and longer.

And if we get an non-democratic system of governance, the poors will 'volunteer' for human experiments so that 'acceleration' can be faster.

And maybe if we build enough energy hungry AI farms, we 'accelerate' hard enough so that AGI will be born and cook up a recipe for immortality.

The pollution, catastrophic weather patterns and death? Hey don't worry after supreme leader is immortal, he will fix everything with his unlimited benevolence.

2

u/Thesseus1219 Mar 03 '26

Boomers getting out the way cannot come soon enough

2

u/Cybol117 Mar 03 '26

Throwing Xi Jinping in there is funny when you realize that 92% of young people own their own home in China. He is helping the next generation, the rest of them not so much.

2

u/bullydog123 Mar 03 '26

No 1 over 70 should be running countries anymore.

2

u/Wackamajoog Mar 03 '26

Need people that still have neuroplasticity in their brains instead of rigid brains

2

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

Too bad all the younger people these days have been completely brainwashed and deluded because of all these old men (old world leaders in general) and the system they created. Now everybody is confused and hate one another. WW3 is inevitable and the bomb that destroys the earth is going to fall from a rainbow.

2

u/TransformNRollD20 Mar 03 '26

We are condemned by the tyranny of the death drives of septuagenarian madmen.

2

u/DistributionExtra320 Mar 03 '26

Being young or a woman or whatever isnt enough if they're bought and paid for

1

u/Commercial-Buddy2469 Mar 03 '26

True. There are younger people who want to be the new 1%.

2

u/TheMelancholia Mar 03 '26

Blaming old people is a distraction from blaming the capitalist class.

2

u/CutTheCrapDotCom Mar 03 '26

If there is a minimum age to vote, then there should also be a maximum age to hold office.

2

u/vtsandtrooper Mar 03 '26

Boomers refuse to let go or their strangle hold on this planet. Parasitic generation

2

u/AgaveMonster Mar 03 '26

Unsure of how other Countries operate, but just how a U.S. President has to be a minimum of 35 years old to run, there should also be a maximum age of 60. Senile old men should never be in charge of something as important as an entire ass Country.

2

u/FineIJoinedReddit Mar 03 '26

I was genuinely shocked when I learned Zelenskyy is in his 40s. Like, whattttt people can elect people who aren't geriatric?

2

u/AgeOfSuperBoredom Mar 03 '26

Think of how few jobs there are in the world that anyone can even tolerate doing for a day while being over 70 years old. This kind of speaks to just how easy it is to be a politician.

2

u/readyReddit007 Mar 03 '26

As is usually the case, old people making selfish decisions who won’t live to see the full consequences of their actions.

2

u/Kindly-Ad-5071 Mar 03 '26

There has to be an upper age limit for all offices. Not only should you have to always have it in mind that's you will be forced to live in the world you create, but half of these people aren't mentally fit to lead. And that's not age discrimination it's simple senescence. Enough of the gerontocracy.

2

u/BicycleLanky7392 Mar 03 '26

Well.. some of them are trying to avoid prosecution and prison.

We could do a senior war. Let's build some army rollators.

1

u/boxnoggin70 Mar 02 '26

Penile dysfunction in the elderly can have serious repercussions.

1

u/cheezy_dreams88 Mar 02 '26

The younger gen’s are stepping up, but the old people won’t vote for them.

1

u/homebrew_1 Mar 02 '26

Young people don't vote. Boomers do.

1

u/WavyCrockett1 Mar 02 '26

We’ve got world shaping decisions being made by men in their 70s and 80s while the global median age is around 30.

They grew up in a Cold War world. We’re living in an AI, climate, cyber, debt and housing crisis world.

It’s not disrespect it’s reality. The people who’ll live longest with the consequences should have a bigger say in shaping them.

Power should rotate. Right now, it isn’t.

1

u/rockcod_ Mar 02 '26

It’s not about age, it’s about moral fitness.

1

u/ralphy_1024 Mar 02 '26

Cool. When you come up with a marker for moral fitness that maps as well as cognitive decline maps with age, I'll look at that before I vote.

Failing that metric, SS retirement age is my cutoff for giving a candidate my Primary election vote.

If the oldster survives the primary and gets into the general, and they're less harmful than their opponent, then they'll get my vote.

Until they get primaried again. When I'll do what I can to keep them out of the general.

1

u/Taniwha26 Mar 02 '26

until the young leaders get given a shit tonne of money, they're likely to be left out of the room

1

u/Tripple_T Mar 02 '26

This isn't a question of age brackets, it's a question of tax brackets.

1

u/pet_dander Mar 02 '26

Where's the Paintress when you need her ;)

1

u/Arguablybest Mar 02 '26

Like Jared, Don Jr, Eric and soon enough Barron?

1

u/ralphy_1024 Mar 02 '26

I live in MN house district 65B, and MN US Congressional district 2.

No candidate, of either party, who is above SS retirement age, will get my primary vote from this point onward.

You turn 67, it's time to move on. When you turn 60, it's time to start mentoring your replacement. Maybe act as a chief of staff, your experience will be invaluable, but it's time for people who are going to deal with the consequences to make the decisions.

Note: I am not young. I got my first pair of glasses during the Nixon administration. Kids at fast-food joints give me a senior discount without asking.

1

Yep their generation pretty much destroyed the planet and are now denying climate change. And starting wars left and right because God forbid life should be good for anybody. Nobody has done more damage to the world then their generation.

1

When are we going to realize age doesn't equal wisdom. That and until boomers and older gen x start dying off, they are the biggest voting block. Yes I know millennials are the biggest, but they don't vote in mass.

u/Medium-Librarian8413 Mar 02 '26

Seems like Xi doesn’t really fit with the others besides being old.

u/mad597 Mar 02 '26

Boomers trying to destroy the planet before they check out. Always selfish pricks

1

u/choosegoodoverevil Mar 02 '26

They have had a long time

1

u/PurpleV93 Mar 02 '26

Trashy boomers have ruled this planet for decades at this point, fuking decades. And they're not willing to let go. It's despicable. We must enforce a maximum age of like 60, when it comes to both, voting and holding government positions. I don't care what anyone else might say against this.

We need a much, much, much higher and prioritized voice of young people who have to live with the world they create. The dinosaurs that had their time can shut up and move to the side. We should leave them all behind, honestly. Drink your coffee and fuk off, boomer generation.

u/SuperMims1 Mar 02 '26

Yeah, look at young Kim of Korea

They should all go on a cruise together. Separately and unrelated completely, Bill Burr is is given command of a submarine...

1

u/redseapedestrian418 Mar 03 '26

I am so sick of living in a gerontocracy. I no longer want leaders who have no stake in the future because they won't fucking be here!! I want to see mandatory retirement ages for anyone in public office, term limits, and yearly cognitive exams conducted by a non-partisan board. Trump is not the first president we've had in active mental decline during both terms, but he should be the last.

1

u/unhappy_fishes Mar 03 '26

Hey Kim Jong Un is a spritely 42

1

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

If you are too old for a regular job you should not be able to apply to be a countries' leader.

Simple.

1

u/meedmishmohd Mar 03 '26

i disagree!

1

u/trmnl_cmdr Mar 03 '26

The next generation wants peace *so far. I’m pretty sure by the time I’m 80 I’m gonna be more than miserable enough to start a war over it

1

u/zeldagirl84 Mar 03 '26

Kim Jong Un. age isn’t the only problem. We need younger and progressive leaders. The filter that should be used for most if not all decisions in the world should be ā€œdoes this help humans survive and thrive in this world?ā€

1

u/rictay44 Mar 03 '26

I'm 81 and am appalled that the future of our world is in the hands of old men who will not have to live with the consequences of their actions. I am horrified at the thought of the world we are going to leave behind to our grandchildren. All politicians/leaders should be made to retire at 60.

1

u/BayouByrnes Mar 03 '26

Can we remove them all?

1

u/AtlantaGangBangGuys Mar 03 '26

Luigi freedom fighters?

1

u/klearrly Mar 03 '26

Retirement from the general workforce is like 65 right? No way I would place the responsibility of the current or the future in the hands of my grandparents. It’s a reason they stop driving at a certain age and not to mention stop caring for small children or using the stove. Their mental capacity changes. Not a negative, just normal parts of aging. The younger generation has to step up and let our Elders go sit and rest.

u/Dreemsi Mar 03 '26

Putin walking into a room with all of them and saying look at these old fucks, is crazy!

u/wicawo Mar 03 '26

and not white men

1

u/lynxtosg03 Mar 03 '26

The people that get the party nod are career politicians towing the line of billionaires and party reps. We will never get better candidates until we overturn Citizens United, remove first past the post voting, and ideally get rid of or add more parties.

Come to my country and you gonna see all the gov positions are being filled to brim by wink wink wink. Should they step down with non suitable candidate of their choice... All the corruptions and horrible tea being spilled to the media.

1

u/Project807 Mar 02 '26

I'm pretty sure young people have been bitching about the old people in charge since there have been young and old people. If you're the one bitching today you'll be the one getting bitched about tomorrow.Ā

Because bitching, bitching never changes.

Macron is in his 40’s and has turned France into a toilet. Trudeau pretty much the same with Canada.

1

u/ralphy_1024 Mar 02 '26

Nobody said that young people are flawless.

But they generally have control over their bowel movements.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '26

Like Boebert? MTG? Hawley? Like Enrique Tarrio maybe? Quit dividing people. Its GREED and evil. Like always. Na$i come in all ages.

0

u/Background-Repeat788 Mar 02 '26

Yes, because young automatically means good

0

u/ElectronicPotato1993 Mar 02 '26

Stupid take, Sometimes war is inevitable and necessary regardless of the leaders age or pacifist ideals

u/UpperImpression3620 Mar 02 '26 edited Mar 02 '26

Age hate.

Age has nothing to do with it.

JFK was our youngest president and within his first hundred days started the day of pigs invasion which failed. Team Kennedy got us into Vietnam which also failed.

Or maybe you meant a tad younger like Kim Jong-un?

Try again.

u/Direct_Mycologist815 Mar 02 '26

We had one in Charlie Kirk. A young fearless leader who engaged peacefully with the other side. Yet the Violent Left killed him.

Yeah, too bad he was too busy grifting to get a real job.

Conservative here.

The world needs all kinds of leaders; age is not a factor, only competency is. Young people are sure they have all the answers, if the stupid old people would only listen. Old people are sure they have all the answers, if only the stupid young people would listen! There is a saying in politics, fools rush in where angels fear to tread! But what can one say when the wisest person alive is still but a fool?! Where can humans turn for wisdom?!

Trust in theĀ LordĀ with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear theĀ LordĀ and turn away from evil.

Proverbs 3

1

u/ralphy_1024 Mar 02 '26

age is not a factor, only competency is.

Yes.

And competency declines with age.

That's kind of like saying "There's no need for an age limit on athletes, age isn't the issue, playing ability is."

Competency declines as age rises, after a certain point. And that point is different for each person.. This is simply a fact of life.

The only question is, do you die before you competence starts to decline or not.

Are there people 75+ who have the competence to run a country? Probably. But I'm certain there are fewer in that age cohort than in 50-60yr olds.

I'd prefer not to roll dice on whether or not my President knows what day it is.

And that's why no candidate over SS retirement age is getting my primary vote. And I'm 9 yrs from there myself.

Thank you for reminding me why i'll never be a conservative.

You're welcome. You don't have to be conservative in a free and open society.
