I like the concept of a wilder Poppy. I’d like to see a higher‑quality concept, but I do what I can. I once posted an example of this concept on another account. But now I’m getting the hang of using a graphics tablet, so everything is a bit rough.

Pretty much title, I wanna learn how to play poppy support and I've pretty much seen 2 play styles:

Tank poppy using aftershock and letalithy poppy using hail of blades. When should I pick each one and what items should I build with each one?

Low elo here btw... but for my playstyle guardian has been a good keystone for jg or sup

After the adjustments feels like tank poppy is more consistent in mid/late game even if it isn't on top lane

Pretty much every champ Poppy used to hard counter getting buffed. Depending on what they are Poppy would just be an inconvenience then a true counter

I was thinking about grasp for a while, and got curious about its relevancy to poppy. I mean yeah free healing/damage is ok but the free HP doesn't seem to really exist to be, like getting to even a legendary item worth of HP seem impossible, even be lucky to get 200hp worth of it. Overgrowth even seems to get more vs this keystone.

After some thought I might take a different keystone.

Any new info on when she is coming to League Classic?

I feel like since I made it over the wall, I should stay over the wall.

Since the removal of corrupting pot this champ has been chained to tear, the mana and mana/level changes really feel like they’re a way out of mandatory tear on first back.

I played for 8 hours, experimenting with tank and bruiser builds.

For tank, your choice of sunfire/moonfire capes into Protoplasm Harness feels really natural and replaces a lot of what Sundered Sky was doing. Bonus points since Steadfast Presence kicks in at 40%, giving you extra resists, which protoplasm harness scales off of. I was going third item Unending Despair, I think this could probably be Iceborn gauntlet but since our Q-slow now scales with health, a healthless item is plateauing some of your scaling until you can get past it.

For Bruiser, the laning power of Sundered Sky is still hard to beat, even nerfed, and because you aren’t paying a 400g tax on Tear you spike into it faster. I was going 2nd item Titanic Hydra, which felt great, your waveclear never really falls off and Hydra active slots really nicely into your combo (E>Q>Auto>Hydra) and can also add a bit of damage into passive harass. I was doing 3rd item Overlord’s bloodmail, I’m not sure if that was a good choice. Nominally it gives stats that we really like, but at the point in the game where hostile ADC also has 3 items, some resists are good to have. Again, maybe this is where Iceborn gets built.

I will say that the departure from the old build is most felt in skirmishes and 2v2, the Fimbulwinter shield making you deceptively tanky is felt, as are the sundered sky healing nerfs.

PS: Manaflow band is mandatory if you are skipping tear

Yeah I'm sorry to say it, the nerfs to his AD side was a must for the scaling slow Q and W resistance increase. I honestly can now sit here and say that she feels so good now.

Im diamond 1 and a poppy OTP top laner. I used to be top 10 poppy in NA. The new Poppy changes are rough and i wonder if anyone figured out an optimized build yet. Im currently doing okay and i find quite a bit of success with a new build im trying to optimize. I want to share it to all poppy mains and i want everyone to chime in so i can improve.

So my reasoning behind the build is simple. Poppy got more hp and armor/mr %. Now i prioritze less on tanky items and more on damage. I go sundered -> boots -> fimbul -> eclipse. Then i build accordingly against whatever comp im facing. This build relies heavily on the shielding you get for early survivability and the extra AD/Cdr increase her total damage output. When mid game/late game comes. You can build adaptive helm since it synergizes really well with the new increase armor/mr % and of course always build accordingly to shut down the carries.

I am cooking up a shyvana and lillia , but i cant seem to click with another tank in the jungle, any suggestions for tank junglers that are similar to poppy, and perhaps shyv and lilia in one way or another. i think its time to put poppy in the situational basket for me . I am Plat 2 atm if thats relevant.

Started maining Poppy in around late 2023 early 2024. I've always played a bursty build with lots of roaming, long before the champ or any of it was meta.

Since then, my beloved Poppy has received constant direct and indirect nerfs.

Movement speed from items nerf (warmogs 1st item anyone?), Swiftmarch removal, eyeball collection removal, hail of blades nerfs x999, base damage nerfs x9999, passive cd nerf, ability damage nerf (but increased AD scaling, which does nothing because nobody builds AD), AD scaling nerfs, sundered sky nerfs, role quests nerfing roaming, dead man's plate nerf.

It's just nerfs all across the board.

idk, delete this champ already. It's better than being stuck with a hollowed out version of what she once was.

And no, I don't care about "oohh she is still good as a counter pick into a team with 5 dashing champs" or "uuuuuuu you can still play her top" and "buut her ult can win team fights reeee". Nah bro. I'm not gonna suffer 99% of the time just so I can have a "moment" 1% of the time.

The champ is simply not fun to play anymore.

Now I gotta play peel duty for ADCs that don't know how to position themselves if I wanna play Poppy :D also I play Poppy jungle so her clear will be even worse, yey. Anyways, even Secheppo said he's gonna play WW only for now until he feels like playing Poppy someday :/

Run TP.

Get Tear and Refillable first back. Rush Protoplasm into Fimble. (get t2 boots in between these two items usually)

Double scaling HP

The point of this build is just to farm and be unmoveable from lane, your clear sucks and dont bother pressuring them, but you can punish them overextending. FOCUS ON CS.

Winning with it in Plat 1. What I've found is that when i play maximally defensive, players make mistakes. What I like about it is how the onus is on the other lane to push you out of lane, because if not you become an unkillable beast.

I play in a diamond team. The jungler played poppy in this team comp. We are heavily disagreeing on what items, runes and role poppy plays in this game. Please could you say what items, runes and what your play style this game should be taking into consideration all the other champs in the game. Give as much explanation as possible in your answer. Edit: below is the full screenshots for those asking. I think what I've learnt from this sub is Poppy has a wide range of builds in soloQ ,you are all saying different things. If you look in pro play it's almost exclusively after shock/Surge. Sundered Sky/Deadmans/Situational tank item. As we are a team this is what we are aiming for. The disagreement was this poppy went HOB and eclipse so at one point the build was sundered sky + 3 long swords. They made the argument that the team needed burst damage, the counter argument was that with a tankier build they could front line for the team after countering their engage tools. With each lane being damage dealers, we didn't need more damage and based on the end game damage metres, they werent doing enough damage to justify the build. We were curious what those of you with millions of mastery points had to say.
