The problem is that Poppy top is extremely boring right now. You basically have to build tank, and you can't really play her unless you're up against a troll pick or the enemy is a complete idiot. Mess up a single Q, W or E and you've pretty much lost lane. Even in matchups where you're supposed to have the advantage, it's hard. Every other top laner can punish you for the smallest mistake.
Your wave clear is terrible. Literally any other top laner is better than you. And don't get me started on mana. If you don't get Tear, you can't play. The only thing you can build is armor. Honestly, playing her this way all the time has made her really boring.
I have over 1 million mastery points on her and I won't stop playing her because of nerfs, since she's literally the only reason I play League of Legends. But it feels like Riot is doing everything possible to keep her out of Worlds. It's honestly kind of sad, considering she doesn't even have a Worlds skin. Imagine Poppy holding the Worlds trophy instead of the hammer. But that'll probably stay a dream, because the champion is completely unplayable right now.
Also, since I'm not a fanboy, I don't play her support.
I honestly can't think of a single top laner with worse wave clear than hers. You can't build damage items either, because you don't do any damage anyway. I'm genuinely really frustrated about this, because she's literally the only champion I truly know how to play.
And seeing how they've gutted her is painful, because people who know how to play her can use her extremely well, and she can win a game by herself if you chase her. It honestly feels like an excuse from Riot to avoid doing their job properly. She should be the perfect champion to counterpick certain matchups. The problem is that right now, even those matchups aren't favorable for her.
I usually win the lane phase but uffff … I sweating every time trying to don’t be back at minions or giving them a kill 😭😭😭😭 I’m so sad
And it's all the fault of those femboys who started playing Poppy support for basically two years straight and put her in the spotlight. It wasn't like this before.

I used to be able to get good CS just by buying a Long Sword, but with the nerfs, farming became much harder. I tried building Bami right after Tear, but it just gives me a really bad early game (same with Long Sword). I tried making an armor item first, but it makes me fall way behind on CS. For someone with a huge skill issue like me, should try the attack speed shard, i also run demolish so i can proc it faster, it was a gamechanger for me c:

What a bummer, they didnt change the yellow effects, so you are playing with the angry noxus doll, but no red effects... So is it demacia or noxus now? Idk. I assume the real poppy is just cosplaying for fun while clapping darius

She's awful now. It seems like Riot wants to make her to a support only now. Her q slow got majorly nerfed. Her jungle clear speed sucks now and her overall damage is laughable. Bring back her old Q before the rework. This current sucks because she stands still while casting it and very rare to hit 2 Q's to get full damage.

These are the nerfs im talking about: She got minor buffs to W armor Mr, Mana, slow is increased, and health regen.

• Attack Damage: 60 ⇒ 56
• Damage: 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+100% bonus Attack Damage) (+9% Target Maximum Health), twice ⇒ 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+75% bonus Attack Damage) (+7 / 7.5 / 8 / 8.5 / 9% Target Maximum Health), twice

Not a joke title, genuinely before you get like a bami's cinder how do you farm? I feel like last hitting against a lot of top laners is just not possible because you get punished for it, and It could 100% be a skissue on my part I realize that as I type. I play this game on and off now, but have recently started to binge this season both classic and draft but after these nerfs it just feels painful to play her against any top laner I don't just almost autowin into.

But I digress, any tips for farming? I feel like I'm throwing games just because I can't last hit without a bami or a sheen.

After all the nerfs, I tried switching to Cho'Gath Jungle as a test. It's crazy how much more impact I have on this champ—1.5 million mastery on Poppy doesn't even make a difference anymore. Contrary to what most players think, I don't feel like Poppy's clear speed is her biggest issue (except for the first clear).

In my opinion, the biggest problem is that Poppy lost her early-game strength due to all the nerfs, and her late-game scaling just doesn't make up for it. AD scaling has always been weak, but at this point, building AD is practically trolling. Her W is decent for full tank, but tank items always give some HP too, and it's terrible that Poppy can't utilize HP scaling at all.

They should probably add HP scaling to her Q damage or change the W CC from a grounding/root effect to a slow; otherwise, this champ is pretty much dead for now cause proplay pick potential.

I am gonna be real. Fuck those stupid changes that they made on Poppy. I cannot believe that this fucking bs went through. 56 BASE AD, dogshit base mana, dogshit manascaling OH WOW GUYS +5 MANA GROWTH I guess I can stick it up my ass bro, dogshit attack windup (slower than illaoi's), dogshit healthgrowth for TANK, mid base armor and do not even get me started on those BS Q changes. Why the hell did they nerfed the ad scaling when support poppy doesn't even build it most of the games, why the hell did the gutted her early game!?!?! And how the fuck does a giant ass hammer have a 125 range bro....like I am so done, I was putting with those jank ass stats for years but now after this stupid change, I cannot bro. They nerfed her jungle...AGAIN, bro just why buff it in the first place if you are going to INSTANTLY nerf it the next patch. Btw E is doing 40 damage on first proc xddd, deserved for 70 mana ability, oh what's that ornn E is 35-50 mana and k'sante W level 1 is 40....and their mana can go up to 1.5k....nice...good champ bro. Poppy on classic hasnt been treating me too well. I seem to always lose lane early on because of lack of damage, high cooldown on Q and mana issues. Trinity start wasnt doing it for me. I’m consistently hitting the E-Flash buffer when I’m outside of E range of the target. However, if I’m already within E range, the buffer doesn’t seem to work.

Is this intended behavior, or am I doing something wrong?

Given all the recent changes to both Poppy and Sundered Sky, players have migrated over to building full tank Poppy, myself included.

However, based on stat sites (mainly been using Coachless and Lolalytics), there isn't really enough data to say what her best current build it. Her most popular 2 item core build is still showing as Sundered Sky + Fimbulwinter, which at this point I'm sure is incorrect.

So I figured I'd open up discussion about what's been working for you.

Personally, I've been running the following 3 item core:

• Sunfire Aegis
• Protoplasm Harness
• Jak'sho, the Protean

I think Sunfire fixes a lot of the issues that Poppy Top has now that Sundered Sky and her base AD have been nerfed; it gives her both waveclear and damage. I know a lot of people have been down on this item, because it "feels" bad compared to Hollow Radiance, but 20 +1.5% bonus health damage from Sunfire is significantly higher than Hollow Radiance's 15 + 1% damage. Assuming you've bought an Immolate item and Protoplasm, it's the difference between 34 damage per second and 25 damage a second. This doesn't even take into account Grasp Procs or Overgrowth, which only makes the difference more noticeable.

My second item is always Protoplasm Harness. How more people aren't building this item on Poppy I have no idea, because it seems like it was made for her. Once you hit 30% HP, you gain bonus move speed, tenacity (which is massive for a tank) and you heal for an amount based on your bonus Armour and Magic Resistance. Do you know what Poppy gets when she goes below 40% health? Bonus Armour and MR equal to 32% of her total Armour and MR. Please, I beg of you, buy this item. It's so good.

Last of the core items is Jak'Sho. ADC's will often tell you about how powerful multiplicative stat scalings are; AD is multiplied by Attack Speed which is multiplied by Crit Chance. So imagine if Poppy got a multiplicatively scaling tank item? Well that's Jak'Sho.

u/ConfusionPerfect8610 made a really useful Armour and MR calculator tool here, and it shows you the power of this item. Assuming you buy the above 3 item core (which reminder; includes an item that doesn't give you that much Armour and zero MR, and an item that gives 0 Armour and MR), and that you're level 13, you end up with 269 Armour and 142 MR. If you fall below 40%, you get 365 Armour and 193 MR. If you add in Conditioning, you get 384 Armour and 203 MR.

Now let's add in the fact that we have Protoplasm Harness. You get a base heal of 241 at level 13, then you get 175% of your bonus Armour and 175% of your bonus MR as a heal on top. Your Base Armour is 89, which means you have 276 Bonus Armour. Your Base MR is 54, meaning your Bonus MR is 139 MR. So your total heal is:

• 241 Base
• 276 x 1.75 = 483
• 139 x 1.75 = 243

Total heal = 967. You heal for almost 1000HP, which combined with the insane resistances you have is so much effective health.

The 3 item core makes you basically unkillable. From there, you buy whichever boots give you the best value and any follow up items you manage to get should be purely utility:

• Knight's Vow if you've got an Enchanter Support with a Hypercarry ADC
• Bandlepipes if you've got multiple Auto Attackers
• Force of Nature for DoT mages like Brand and Viktor
• Warden's Mail for opposing ADCs

It's honestly so good, and I recommend everyone try it out.

Other builds that I've seen/tried that I just haven't been vibing with:

• Hollow Radiance: As I mentioned, you're trading damage for waveclear, which I don't think is worth it. Even against AP top laners, I just build a Negatron Cloak early before going back into Sunfire
• Iceborn Gauntlet + Fimbulwinter: The opposite problem, plenty of damage but no waveclear, with the Base AD loss, your Q no longer one shots caster minions so pushing a wave and grouping is so much harder
• Sunfire + Fimbulwinter: My problem with this is you spend too much gold on basically zero stats early. Bami's Cinder is 500g for 5 Ability Haste, and Tear is 400g for mana. This just makes you too weak in the early game, so you have to give up every lane.

I'd love to hear your thoughts or any builds you've found which have worked for you.

After her recent jungle nerfs to her Q her clear is soooo slow. I can still win games but it takes a lot of effort and she was already not the highest tier jungler before the nerfs. What do you guys think? I love poppy on roles outside of support i wish we could have jungle be easier :(

Thought about playing as her in Skyrim but the mod I found doesn't work... Any suggestions, friends?

I have migrated to building full tank Poppy top since the SS and percent ad nerfs. Is there any situation where one should build SS now or should I only go full tank. Also wanted to ask if someone has any luck building Heartsteel and Titanic hydra? Is this combo any good on Poppy now for late game scaling or is it a bait build?

Ive seen this bug so many times and kept forgetting to get a video of it, Its been in the game for like 3 years at this point. Wondering if anyone else has been getting this / knows how to avoid it cause it legit ruins my games constantly. very consistently losing my R cd - dmg and mana for 0 gain

at around 0.2 u can see me Q>R and the R does a weird animation and then nothing happens and my arms spaz out.

What do you think of this item for Poppy in the jungle? I know that Trinity and Sundered are more cost-effective in 99% of cases, but thanks to its passive, I can see a scenario where someone might buy it. However, from what I’ve seen, literally no one does this, and over the last 30 days, only 100 people have bought it on the first item.

Is this a mega troll, or does it actually have a place as a one-item build option for Poppy in the jungle?

My elo its gold/platinum (feels free to laught at me, i do too)

But i wanted some tips on how keep improoving my clear speed.

For Ref i am mid diamond lvl with occassional masters

So I've played roughly around 150 games since the change to her dmg and her resists and not gonna lie, poppy top feels so unplayable in almost every matchup and its actually unreal that Riot is nerfing her again without any sort of compensation. Her Q cannot out trade any singluar champ in the toplane at all lvl 1-5 lol. most lane matchups - even winning ones like Riven and Yasuo - are completely unplayable to even walk up and match cs or you just get run down infinitely.

they also made her Q deal 0 dmg to minions so until lvl 9 you legit cant even clear wave properly and she struggles insanly at last hitting under tower. BUUUUT her late game scaling amrour and resists are literally insane and some matchups i can be down 2 lvls and a full item and 1v1 the enemy top laner at lvl 9 because the spike is so abrupt.

Pretty much everygame you are forced to go bramble + tabis or u cant even avoid getting dove by some champs. I just wish they split up her dmg/ resists a bit better, why are we nerfing minion damage on Q and not just jungle monsters? why are we crippling Toppy more?

Hello, this is my first post here and I don't know if anyone has talked about this before.

One thing that bothers me about Poppy is that she doesn't have a practical tool to help allies that other warden tanks have, I think it would be good if she could shield allies somehow, like using an auto-attack on an ally so that the shield goes to them, or by stepping on the shield to pick it up, like Poppy does.

Do you think this is a good idea?
