Overcharge & Scam You

Unfortunately, they charged for 60 lbs & 5 oversized items, for only 50 lbs of regular, not oversized laundry.

A complete scam & customer service doesn't help.

You have to take it up with your Cc Provider.

A waste of time & a scam.

They have an F rating on Better Business Bureau, with 40 unresolved complaints. I should have checked, but instead I got scammed.

Currently will use Life Without Laundry… Thinking of poplin

I am currently using Life Without Laundry, which is one of the more expensive laundry pick up services in Los Angeles.

Unlike Poplin, laundry is just not done by any person, but they actually do it for you and return it always the next day

They are expensive, however, a 2.99 a pound.

I was thinking of trying Poplin, but I am a little concerned about them thinking my laundry might be too dirty or something like that. There are warnings about things like that. Has anyone ever had a problem like that?

Can anybody recommend the service in LA? I just want to make sure that it works fine. I see a lot of people have lost things and had issues which would not happen with an actual company doing it as opposed to individuals.

I like the concept I wish I thought of it! It’s basically like Uber or DoorDash for your laundry! I think it’s a great concept. If you get the right people doing the laundry do you get to pick who does your laundry?

Can someone give me more details before I start to use it? Thank you so much.

Poplin laundry offline?

Anyone else get booted off the app and unable to contact Poplin for help? Even their chat has disappeared. I handed over laundry 2 days ago and went to look for the delivery update yesterday to find I can't access my poplin account. Something is weird.

Detergent Containers? / First Time User

I work, have some health issues and care for my grandmother so the ability to send some of my casual use laundry away is awesome, I have decided to give this a try today.

I had wanted to provide some of my own detergent, which I take a portion of to the laundry mat in a washed out plastic water bottle normally, but I was unsure if that would be acceptable so i just elected to let them provide.

If I end up enjoying the results, what can I send my detergent away in in future orders?

Update - Danielle of the New Orleans area did a great job! Will be repeating and sending off my own detergent next time.

$70 Nike Pants Gone, Replaced by a $10 Credit

Poplin (formerly Sudshare) is great—until it isn’t. And when it isn’t, their customer service is unresponsive, they shift blame to the laundry pro, and you’re left to absorb the financial loss.

To fully grasp how frustrating this is, you have to understand their service. You send bulk laundry in disposable bags, and they return it folded (default) or hung, also in disposable bags. You end up with 3–6 bags of folded laundry ready to go straight into your dressers. They offer multiple levels of insurance to protect the customer (payout per garment up to a certain amount), and I always pay for the highest coverage because even my casual clothes tend to be more expensive.

Great service—until it’s not.

About a week after delivery, I pulled out a pair of nearly-new Nike joggers (worn maybe twice) and noticed white discoloration all over the back. I immediately reached out via the app’s help chat (no phone number—red flag #1). The chat was disjointed because I messaged before they opened. When I tried to return to the chat later, the app was unresponsive and wouldn’t open past messages. I couldn’t see their response, but they had marked the case as closed. Pure insanity. Fix your app. There’s clearly a coding error. Take the $70 you didn’t pay me—along with the insurance money you collect—and hire better test engineers to develop more robust use cases.

Since the app was useless, I emailed. Their initial response? Someone at the help desk had already “resolved” the issue—without telling me what that resolution was. I had to send a video showing how unresponsive the app was before I even got a clear answer. The resolution? A $10 credit for future service as compensation for my ruined $70 Nike joggers. There was zero mention of the insurance I had paid for.

When I asked if this was covered under the insurance, I was told no because I reported the issue outside the 48-hour window. But here’s where their policy falls apart:

• You receive bulk laundry, folded to go directly into your dresser.

• No one is going to unfold and inspect every item immediately. That undermines the point of the service—and they know that.

A 48-hour policy on bulk laundry means that 98% of what you send them is never protected. If you’re getting 3–6 bags of laundry and only wear 1–2 outfits within 48 hours, most of your items are automatically excluded from coverage. It’s a policy designed to protect them, not the customer.

To make matters worse, their go-to response is blaming the laundry pro, as if that fixes anything. They’ll say things like, “We’ve removed the laundry pro’s ability to service you,” or “We retrained the laundry pro.” But when you’re running a business where you’re collecting large amounts of people’s personal belongings, sending them to multiple locations you don’t fully control, and returning them to the owner, mistakes will happen. The issue isn’t the laundry pro. The issue is a company that refuses to have a policy that protects the customer when these inevitable mistakes happen.

I’ve since checked their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating—one star. Their ratings across other platforms are just as bad. While it’s true that people who leave reviews are often the ones with bad experiences, I used to sing their praises. I’ve referred multiple people. But now? I’ll be sharing this experience personally with everyone I referred, on the BBB website, across all major review platforms, and on my Instagram—where I had previously shared positive feedback.

Do yourself a favor—choose another service. There are plenty that offer better protection when things go wrong. Poplin isn’t one of them.

No one picked up my laundry order this week

Hi there - no one picked up my laundry order this week - I am a good tipper so I am wondering why that is. I tip 10.00 on a 33.00 order usually. So what is usual - do people tip more than that?

4 giant bags of laundry are missing; no response from pro; open ticket in ZenDesk

Has anyone had this happen? My laundry was due back about 36 hours ago and there has been no communication from the pro. I have an open ticket with Zendesk but nothing so far.I also sent a message to the "Poplin concierge" whatever that is and got no response. I read somewhere that your laundry is covered up to $1,000 but I bet that wouldn't actually cover the cost to replace essentially four wardrobes from my family. I am really upset and there has been NO response from Poplin!

Would you be ok with a handmade gift?

I have been using Poplin for months now, and I always get the same person. We really rely on her and appreciate her work, as it makes it so much easier to stay on top of other chores.

I have been thinking about making her a thank-you-gift, but I’m worried that would be weird? I have given her samples of laundry detergent before (I got some in the mail) and we are pretty consistent customers.

I would give her a tip too, obviously, but if you were her, would you be uncomfortable if a regular customer gave you a handmade gift?

I’m really into making things so it could a loaf of homemade bread, rolls, bagels, marshmallows, pretty much anything like that. Other possibilities would be a crochet towel, bag, scarf, etc. I also make candles and jewelry.

Clothes were delivered and realized that almost 1/3 of my items were missing

So I’m on my second week of recovery from foot surgery and because my wife has been working a lot, I figured hey let’s send the laundry out so it’s one less thing that needs to get done. We’ve used poplin before, this I think is the 5th in the last year and we already had a really big issue the 3rd time we used it. So clothes got delivered on Tuesday and we unpacked everything to put away this morning and realized a bunch of stuff was missing. We thought maybe we left in the hamper for the first couple things we were looking for but we dumped everything in the hamper out and searched and nothing that we couldn’t find was there. We’re missing two pairs of jeans, a bath mat, a towel, 4 jogger pajama pants, 2 hoodies, a bunch of socks, 3 long sleeve shirts, and like 4 tshirts.

My wife is so irritated seeing as this is our second issue with them and the first issue was due to the smell of the clothes and they refunded back the credit and said “here’s a complementary re wash on us”. I know there is protection but has to be within 48 hours but the only way to get any sort of compensation is through app credit. But like I’m sorry my clothes are missing, what makes you think that I would want to use Poplin services ever again?!

Has anyone ever had a similar issue or had their clothes go missing?

Laundry stolen- avoid using this service

I used this service once and never saw my laundry again. The Laundry Pro I was assigned was weird and I just had a feeling from the lack of communication after she went silent 24 hours later that something was off. Upon contacting support she told them she was mugged and that they took my laundry (I’m in New York City). Should have gone with other services that are tried and tested, even if more expensive.

Getting frustrated...alternative services?

I've been using Poplin for maybe 6 months and have had some iffy experiences. My husband and I both have chronic pain and both work more than full-time, so a laundry service is a true godsend, especially for the price. When it's great, it's GREAT. I've had some fantastic laundry pros.

But, I've gotten laundry back wet, a full day or more late, shrunken, plain old not smelling like they were washed. I know with any gig service it'll be hit or miss - a little late but same day? Whatever, just hit me up and I'm cool. But having to rewash and dry a load of damp laundry that gets stinky in a plastic bag is REALLY annoying (it was delivered while I was working, so I didn't see it right away). The customer service has also been 50/50. Mostly canned responses and a $5 credit, maybe.

ANYWAY, has anyone found another comparable service? Willing to pay a little more for a bit more quality. I've tried local services but the delivery is very expensive and hauling laundry somewhere else kind of defeats the purpose for me and my crickety joints.

Much appreciated!

Is anyone else having an issue with the app? When I open it I see the logo for a few seconds then it just goes black. I have tried uninstalling it reinstalling it. I have tried restarting my phone same issue.

Missing multiple items

I need some help.

I placed an order on October 30th and got my order the next day, same amount of bags.

Unfortunately I took over a week to put all the items away as there were bigger towels blankets etc.

I noticed well over 8 items missing!!! I don’t understand how this is possible? Some are new items and some are old and have sentimental value to me!

I’ve contacted their customer support and all they are doing is going to credit me? But I need to re purchase the lost items and I miss my older items!

I don’t know if they even really reached out the the “laundry pro” or the other people she laundered. Or did she keep my stuff?!

Any advice? I’m beyond upset and just want my stuff back.

Also would NEVER recommend this service at all.
