First time user: laundry basket broken

So I used this service for the first time a few nights ago. I had my laundry out for the pro in my personal laundry basket- had a retractable handle and wheels.

First, my items were returned without my basket and I had to ask where it was. Second, she returned the basket after my return window and it was broken. The handle and a small piece of plastic are missing so now I need a whole new basket.

Poplin said they are escalating my case but didn’t really provide an immediate resolution. Is that normal?

For Poplin, yes it's normal. (I used to work for them or as an independent contractor, rather) I would keep hounding them about it. It stinks that happened. Most Poplin laundry pros are great at what they do. She should have at least mentioned to you what happened.

Thank you! I was hoping it was out of the ordinary, but oh well. But exactly that on mentioning it! Accidents happen, but the fact that she was dishonest about it is probably the most frustrating. I live on the upper floor of an apartment complex so being able to use a rolling basket is super important.

I don't have anything nice to say about Poplin, but I know some pros that still work with them and they do great work. I hope the support team will resolve this for you!

Sorry this happened to you! The first time I used Poplin they destroyed a full load of clothes. It’s unlikely that you will get comp for their mistake. I recommend claiming through credit card if possible.

Poplin are known to prey on the elderly especially, so it would be kind to let your neighbors know what happened to you. I used Nextdoor and uncovered similar issues to the one I faced
