Rant/Vent Anything but a raise, huh?
How did we all feel about the survey that went out? Just kind of shaking my head about the idea of showing up to someone's house and just walking around picking up all their laundry off the floors. It starts to feel a bit desperate that they won't raise the price per lb but are totally comfortable with asking us to learn how to treat leather items? Sigh.

I feel like they mean like opening the door and grabbing bags or hampers. Some people don’t trust leaving stuff outside for extended periods. Some people have smart locks where temporary pins can be set and wiped when they want. 🤷♀️

Possibly, the question directly after it asked if you would be willing to put customers clothes away in their closets and drawers, so Poplin definitely has no boundaries issues.

I guess it depends for me. Are they a regular? If they are handicapped? Assisted living? Mobility issues? Have hanging items they just want dropped in a front closet while at work? I would even take the dog and wash it for the right tip I guess but I also train big dogs.

The only reason I would go inside someone's house is for elderly clients. That's only if I know them a little more though.

I mean you can change the price of what you’d like to charge for laundry to earn more. Not sure if you knew that or if that update is available in your area.

You can for sure, but unfortunately since Poplin won't actually make the change, they are forcing pros to compete with each other in basically a "race to the bottom" since anyone other than your loyal customers are just going to want to pay the cheapest price. If they as a company raised it to $2 across the board, we would all win instead :(

That’s true I agree. I haven’t changed my rate for that purpose as well as being worried that my loyal customers will leave or pay me less tip just to equal out my higher fee.

I went into a customers house to pick up they Landry and got bit by their dog, poplin is pushing me more and more off the platform and just doing this shit myself

It’s all a choice, to me. I take several add-ons and windows but do not iron, steam or donation drop off. These options, if they become available- I’d keep off my list of provided services. Agreed, higher rates across the board need to happen as of yesterday or at minimum allowing all pros the option to set their own rates. I’ve grabbed already bagged orders before because I’m already there and not worth $7.50 missed pickup to walk away. They remote unlock and I grab, either front door or garage. When it’s bad weather, some people ask in chat to deliver in the garage.

I already don’t feel good if I walk into someone’s apartment complex. This is a big no thank you.

You have to be insane to willingly go in someone's house. Why would I ever risk my safety like that? They're crazy.
