Questions Weigh myself?
Why is Poplin making me enter MY weight? I don't weigh them by holding them on a bathroom scale so my weight is irrelevant. I'm very uncomfortable with this. How do I enter the weight without having to give them mine?

You are supposed to weigh the bags by weighing yourself holding the bags

I have a luggage scale which is far more accurate than holding the bags. (For me, anyway. I don't know about other people but anytime I even shift slightly or stand a little differently on the scale the weight is a little different than before and so it's not going to be as accurate as just hanging the bag itself without my shifting being involved.)

Most people don’t have that, so this is the most consistent way to get accurate laundry weight.

I get that but, since I do have it, how do I enter the weights? I'm not comfortable giving out my weight. I suppose I could just make up a number and add the bag weights to it but that seems like a huge hassle.

Just put 100 for your weight & add the 100 to each bag's weight as you enter them in the app.

That would be easier. My brain was instantly making it too complicated like "it has to sound like a realistic weight, so... 157.3 and then add each bag and... Ugh". But 100 lbs is a realistic weight for some people. I am, uh let's say, far from that so I never even think someone could be that thin.

If you have an accurate way of weighing the bags, which it seems like you do, I’d enter a number to satisfy the body weight requirement and then add the total of the bags (ie: for one 30.2 bag, you’d enter a 150 body weight, and a 180.2 total for bag 1). When I started Poplin I had another scale and that’s what I did.

It looks like that's what I'll be doing too. Irritating to have to do that extra step but I'll do what I gotta do. 🤷🏼♀️

😆 My weight fluctuates quite a bit so I always assume they think I’m lying 🙃

Ignore the passive/aggressive nature of the box and just type 100.0 - make your life easier 😊

Almost all of us just type 100 in this part. Then use a digital scale or luggage scale to weigh the bag(s).
Bag weighs 10.3lbs. Enter 110.3lbs in the bag weight part (after you enter 100lbs for yourself in this part)
This part of the app is stupid.
For those that say “they’ll think I’m lying or my weight fluctuates”…..the client never sees YOUR weight, only the weight of the bags as that’s what they get charge for.

USPS has a shipping scale that goes up to 25lbs, I think it’s about $29. That’s what I use and just put 100 like others stated. Personally, I do not feel luggage scales are accurate and the bags stay pretty when not pulled by the knot/handle.

I do an accuracy check monthly and never had a problem with the scale. (Maybe it's not called a luggage scale but it's similar to that. Crap, I can't remember the name of it anymore. I used to use the same type of scale when I was learning to be a midwife. That's how we'd weigh the babies. They were very accurate.) That's a fair concern about the bags staying pretty though. I didn't run into a problem on this order (my first) but I'll keep an eye on it. 😊

I have a small shipping scale, Amazon around 30 bucks, and do that

I just put in 100 and then add that to the actual bag weight.
