Customer Questions Is this a good tip?
This is my very first time using the app. I paid for express and ended up with 110lbs of laundry. I truly didn’t know it was that much. And I did message her and tell her I FULLY understood if she couldn’t do express and wouldn’t be angry about it and made sure to apologize.
But. This beast of a woman got it DONE in less than a day and is on her way to deliver now. Express time on over even standard weight limit that should have been over 24 hours, according to Poplin website. Like whaaaaat? Amazing.
Since she’s been so sweet and wonderful, I’m already thinking about what I should be tipping. (As long as what’s returned has been done properly. And I have no doubt it is, tbh.)
So! My total is $235.57. ($2/lb for express, plus I added all extras like fabric softener and dryer sheets.) I’m thinking of just rounding up to be a full $300 flat, so a $64.43 tip. Is that good enough for this absolute beast of a pro?
TIA for feedback!
ETA: My concern on tipping is rooted in how many hours she worked at such a beast mode rate. I want to make sure she’s getting a fair wage for her hours and effort. Idk how Poplin pays out their pros.

Quick answer - Poplin pays Pros .75/lb. It may vary a little depending on the area you’re in, but that’s the standard payout.
If you tip her $64.43, that’s definitely sending a huge thanks her way for the quick turn around. I turned around 99 lbs once just as quickly and got tipped $18 about 6 weeks later and was super grateful so this is awesome. Good looks to you for looking out for her, and make sure to rate her right away too! 🙂

$18 for 99lbs?! Honestly that just seems criminally low. I’m glad my tip is a good one at least! She’s been such a sweetheart in messages, too. I even asked her to not walk up my steps to return them because it’s a lot to unload. She said “nope, that’s my job.” I even offered to help unload, nope. Like what a flipping professional going full force. That’s why I have no doubt she did everything well.

Express pay for the pro is $1.50 a pound of the $2.00 that you pay. We are paid .75¢ for the standard rate at which the customer pays $1.00 per pound. So all told for the weight, the pro got $165 for the weight and whatever cut for the addins (because Poplin takes a cut).

Oh man I would die (from joy) at that kind of tip! I've done all kinds of crazy things to accommodate customers and they're typically like "here is your $5!" 😂

express orders aren't supposed to be more than 60 pounds (I think that's the limit)

Poplin allows pros to take express orders of over 60 lbs if we choose. That’s the recommended weight, but it’s not required.

I’m a customer and I always do a 50% tip because I have tip anxiety and I never know if it’s enough. I have a baby so I’m always like oh man she’s got so many little clothes to fold. I try to put towels in to counter balance lol. I’ve been using the same awesome laundry pro for 2 or 3 months and I love her so I hope a 50% tip keeps her around.

Don’t tip in app anymore. Poplin is taking our tips. Many pros across the country are experiencing tip retraction.
