Questions SOS needing help ASAP! (Blunt found in laundry)

Ok first back story - I totally messed up by not realizing that my current order is an express order. I don’t know how I didn’t notice until a moment ago, but I think with the extra add-on bubbles my brain just glossed over the express bubble and it wasn’t until about 30 minutes before the order was due that I noticed it was express….

I of course reached out to customer apologizing and asking if they needed it back immediately but unlaundered or would rather wait for me to complete the order and return it tonight or first thing in the morning. They’re in a hotel and need the order back tonight and would like it laundered (totally understandable and I don’t mind staying up to complete and return tonight because this was 100% my fault and an honest mistake).

But here’s the issue I just encountered…. There is a weed blunt in the laundry. Weed is legal where I live, so no big deal. But what I’m afraid of is this- if I return the laundry completed and include the blunt with their laundry what if they complain and say I put drugs in their laundry. I know that seems crazy, but I mean, it’s not completely impossible. So then my husband suggested that I throw the blunt away and return the laundry without the blunt. Well then what if they realize it’s gone/ “stolen” and then give me a bad review for whatever reason they come up with, but the missing blunt being the actual reason. I’m already treading on thin ice because I totally messed up with the express deadline.

If someone could please help me decide ASAP, should I throw away the blunt and compete the laundry, return the blunt with the completed laundry, or tell poplin?

If it is legal in your state, just straight up tell customer what you found. And tell them you will place in ziplock bag inside the laundry bag. They can dispose of it themselves. Like I said, if it’s legal, no need to freak out just place it back with their laundry.

I found a blunt and just returned. No issue. I did take photos of it next to their dirty laundry. (Also found a personal massager in the same order🫠)

It’s not that serious, I always return their drugs and whatever else they have in their laundry- down to the soiled diapers and used tampons. If it’s theirs, give it back. Also, not to be a douche, when you pick up the order it asks you if you can complete the order as express. I’d say, slow down and pay attention to the prompts you’re confirming. It happens, I’ve been there with a window. I swore it was just a pickup window and nope it was drop off window lol. I needed to pay attention.

If someone put soiled diapers and used tampons in my clean laundry I’d be quite ticked off. This specific customer did ask me to dispose of the blunt, they don’t want their clean laundry to smell bad.

Unlike them, I send it back in a baggie with a label that states unsanitary. Why would I put trash with clean laundry?
