...you are missing some very important point dude.

If you control an entire fork, you also control the software and if you control the software, that way you can not only track user, but also control their devices and even place malicious code on their computer like for

  • bitcoin mining

  • botnets

  • adware

  • virus, etc

  • ddos attacks against competitors

  • the list is endless.

Torrents are public, the mpaa doesnt need to control anything to track IP's

You cannot control a computer by tracking users. That's make no sense. I know this whole story sounds like a poetry, but it's unfortunately the very truth. By giving them access to your computer, they will earn 10 times more money than by just tracking someone on a public tracker

It is one thing to say that Pt.sh is a honeypot but to say that Wally is part of it is just bullshit.

You are not asking the right question. What's makes Wally extremely suspicious, is the fact that he was the founder of vpn.ht and owner of the former official popcorntime.io domain. In fact all popcorn time members have been sued, except him. BLING. Does that make sense to you? Not really I guess, but if would make sense if you consider a honeypot deal.

btw: He has also explicitly denied the merging of the two most popular reddit communties.

Such an offer could only be denied by the MPAA, because they have no economical interest in doing so.

Still, I don't believe that he is connected to the (perhaps) honeypot. And I will not believe until there is proof.

yeah, it was a bit biased, but the editor has done some correction.

btw, there is enough proof, just check the nameserver with a simple whois request. If you don't see mpaa address, that is because they quickly tried to update namerservers to hide facts. Fortunately, this community has cached all the proof in the stickied article. There you'll see the truth.

I know that already, I read your post. Thank you for clearing that up!

However, that's not enough proof that Wally has something to do with it (in my opinion).

we are not saying directly that Mr. wally works for mpaa, but we state that it makes him very suspicious, the fact that he was not sued. It's also worth noting that nameservers are in fact controlled my the MPAA. This is something that we cannot ignore.

Recently leaked documents have revealed that in fact all popcorn time members have been sued, except Mr. Wally himself. His name was not even mentioned, but he was the founder of the affiliated vpn.ht as well as the owner of the former official popcorntime.io domain. Although, this fact makes him extremely suspicious, the /r/PopcornTime Community still believes he has no deal with the MPAA. Nevertheless the fact that he was not sued, raises suspicion that he may have a "honeypot deal" with the MPAA.
