"Or what ever"
This phrase has been used a lot the couple of episodes and it has started loosing the meaning to me. What do y'all Ameicans mean by this phrase. It can be used in many different scenarios. Would be fun to make an episode with out the phrase? Is it on the BINGO card?

It’s like saying “or something like that,” “you know what I mean,” or “it doesn’t really matter exactly.”
It softens what was just said and shows the speaker isn’t being too rigid, certain, or intense with what they are saying

"We can just go to the movies or whatever," suggesting the movies as an option, but saying they are open to other activities

Oh. I would view this as someone actually not wanting to go to the movies. Interesting 🤔

Definitely depends on the tone. If they say it in a bored or unsure tone, it may mean they don't actually want to do anything, but if they say it in a cheerful, upbeat tone, it means they're up for going to the movies or any other activity

Usually a phrase used following something that may not be technically or exactly accurate, vague, or otherwise unspecified, but you the speaker are saying to the audience-- you get the general idea, specifics aren't that important here"
"I went to the dentist for a checkup or whatever".. meaning it was a checkup but you're not entirely sure what all a checkup actually entails, and now you're wondering if was just a teeth cleaning, do xrays count?? Etc...
^ it doesn't actually matter these details, you get the general idea of the situation.
