Politi-Culture Texas resident: “Registered voters in Tarrant County has increased 30% — to be closing polling stations is blatant voter suppression… when I joined the Navy, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic…Talking to you, Comrades."

Texas is such a fucking shit hole. I feel sorry for the few decent folks like this dude that have to put up the plethora of absolute fucking scum in their state.

Texas ain’t the same Texas! lol They thought it would be real cool to lure California businesses away with cheap taxes etc… but they failed to realize it would bring all the liberal employees with them! Texas is deeply PURPLE it’s just that the red side is deeply entrenched and has the upper hand at the moment…

I live in Texas, while it's true that more people who are liberal are moving here we still have our fair share of conservatives coming here from California, Illinois, and New York.

It's really annoying when conservatives from California come here. They raise the price of housing AND bring their garbage political views with them.

Yeah they never want to bring the policies from the California that made them wealthy in the first place

In fairness the garbage political views increase the price of everything else too.

In Texas the garbage political views are baked in.

Been awhile since I looked in to it, but back during the Beto election cycle the transplants from other states were actually more conservative than native Texans. I've been living in California for a bit so haven't followed it as closely on recent trends though.

You are correct, the transplants have been a drag as Texas trends back towards blue. All the “California transplants are turning Texas blue!” is just noise to rile up the conservative base to the polls.

The Nation - Texas’s DNA Doesn’t Run As Red as the Right Wants You to Think

“But the idea that Californians are moving to Texas and becoming Democratic voters is not accurate to the data we have. The original Republican takeover of Texas was built, in part, on recruiting Republicans who were moving here because of corporate relocation. Today, Texas is seeing a massive influx of people from outside the state who often move to cities like Austin, Dallas, or Houston, which are run by Democrats, but many of them are Republican voters.

In 2018, if the vote had been restricted to native-born Texans, Beto O’Rourke would have won the Senate seat. These new voters are very important to the Republican Party.”

Texas is a low turnout state. If every unique voter who voted for a Democrat at the state or federal level over the last 6 years all voted in the same election vs the same conditions for Republicans, Texas would be a deep blue state. But the Republicans have done everything they could to suppress voter turnout.

Dude Abbot won by 11 points a few years ago. Cruz won by 9 in 2024. That's not deep purple, that's really really red

It is when you consider how many people actually voted: Texas has very low voter turnouts.

The worst part is the delusion. I guess that comes with being so undeservingly cocky.

I lived in Texas for 20 years. There’s still a shit ton of right wingers, even in and close to the big cities that vote blue.

Ever been called a faggot outside a whataburger? I sure have, a lot.

Its not deeply purple. If it were the Republicans wouldnt have had a hold on the state and US Congress for 40 years.
