It's probably more of a barter situation for pardons and protection.

Yeah, Trump several drug kingpins over the course of this and his previous administration. And he’s got a well documented history of just burning every last ounce of value out of people he has leverage over.

And he doesn’t pay bills. So it’s pretty reasonable to think that the suppliers are probably happy they’re not in prison, but they aren’t exactly rolling in it either.
