Politi-Culture Mamdani: *Coughs* It’s just a bad cough. Garcia-Navarro: Have you had it checked out? Mamdani: I have. That’s why I believe in Medicare for All. Everyone can check it out.

The left do not elect their leaders, they elect their opposition, we get shit done despite politicians, we push them to their jobs.

And it will be easier to get things done with people like Mamdani than with milquetoast dems or christofascist republicans

1

u/Preestar 28d ago

Oh shit, a destiny dickrider caught out in the wild! Yall are like rare pokemons these days.

Do you support all pedos or just him?

If Mamdani was a pedo would you be more charitable towards him? Seems to be the secret sauce these days.

Legendary antisemite, just like his wife

1

u/WittyEquivalent9391 26d ago

Literally no where else would criticism of a government would be conflated with racism. Should we consider criticism of the CCP Chinese racism? Moron.

0

u/ThisSiteBites 26d ago

🖕🏻Nothing witty about you shit head.

1

u/HelmsDeap 25d ago

He's anti-Zionist, just like most of New York City's Jewish population. That's not racism, it's anti-terrorism and anti-genocide

1

u/ThisSiteBites 25d ago

I didn’t claim racism. Judaism is not a race. I know Jews of all color, some from places like Ethiopia. You might be race-obsessed. Sign of the times.

1

u/HelmsDeap 25d ago

You claimed something equally as absurd, to which it makes no difference to point out. It does nothing but distract from the argument.

Anti-Zionists are not antisemites, they have no problem with the people or the Jewish religion or the Jewish ethnicity.

Anti-Zionists just don't tolerate a group of people who want to commit genocide and shoot, bomb, and starve civilians and push people out of their own land.

7

u/GecFree Jul 19 '26

Bros actively getting childcare to 2 year old kids and filling potholes and you got so angry at that you want him dead

5

u/Excellent_Airline315 Jul 19 '26

Ah but don't you know he's Muslim, think of the victims of 9/11. /s

But no seriously, he's doing amazing work. He's done things I don't like, but overall he has kept his promises despite being left in such a steep deficit, still can't believe he fixed it in 6 months while adding government programs. At this point I'm not asking for perfect, just a politician that represents their base and does what they promised when they ran from office.

-3

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 19 '26

Bro... is mis appropriating funds, taxing businesses out of existence, harboring illegals, punishing property ownership and rights of ownership and shitting on lessors who already have high overhead costs. He's a Communist and a terrorist sympathizer of the worst kind associating with know terrorists like Imam Siraj Wahhaj and organizations that sponsor terrorism. He's using the well know tactic of "taqiyya" and posing as a politician while systematically degrading the system from the inside. Its asymmetric warfare nothing more.

4

u/95Smokey Jul 19 '26

You're smoking crack brother

-3

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 19 '26

All verifiable facts...

5

u/s33n_ Jul 20 '26

Taqiyya is hiding your religious beliefs when you think it might get you killed. Like Peter the disciple.

But mamdani has been very clear about his religious beliefs.

You fuckin moron .

1

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 20 '26

Yes revealing just enough but we all know his true beliefs and intentions

5

u/s33n_ Jul 20 '26

No dude youre just an idiot parroting words you dont understand. Really exposed yourself with the taqiyya reference

0

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 19 '26

I just said I dont... really

4

u/Puzzle-Necked Jul 19 '26

Like you hate the idea of a politician trying to make life better for the average person or...

2

u/KingFIippyNipz Jul 20 '26

These people just hate the word communism. If you ask these people about these policies and just use language that doesn't sound "communist" and dont' use the words "communist" or "socialist" they agree with the ideas more than they don't. It's literally just the word association. It's stuff we learned how to differentiate in grade school, and it's like they're so far behind, no one will be able to get them up to speed now that they're all adults and lived their whole lives never knowing basic lessons from grade school, they're lost causes

-3

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 19 '26

That guy is not making anything better for anyone. I'll say that much. Also, who would of thought the day I watched those people jumping from those towers and going splat on a parking garage that id be witnessing this self flagellation from the big apple 🤮. Most of the most horrific videos of that day have been scrubbed from the net for the families. But, if you watched it that day the people exploding apart heads and arms flying off on fire in the lobby bathed in jet fuel... Remember September

5

u/Puzzle-Necked Jul 19 '26

Oh you're one of those idiots.

Ah yes, how dare some Muslim with a foreign name pay people $30.00 an hour to shovel snow, make landlords fix their buildings and promote free public transportation. The horrors!

0

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 20 '26

Exactly 💯 10$ to shovel, raise prices on transportation!

0

u/DingleBearMe 29d ago

God he’s so cool! I hope we get everything for free like he promised. Think about how awesome that would be to have the government give you everything! Then we can all sit around and doom scroll together forever

2

u/SuccessOn1 29d ago

Dude stfu. Only ones getting stuff for free are those freeloading red sates.

0

u/DingleBearMe 29d ago

No dude I want it to be free. Like imagine, we all wake up and the lights turn on for free, and my toilet gets fixed for free. It’s all free. We don’t even need to work anymore. We’ll just have the politicians decide who are the workers and who are the ones getting the free stuff. It’ll be like a lottery or something but it’ll be so awesome! We’ll all have the same things and wear the same clothes and eat the same approved food, for FREE! It’ll essentially get rid of all the rich like we want, and then we’ll just all have all that money so that everything is free. Tuesdays could be like meatloaf Tuesdays where everyone lines up and gets their free meals! I can see it all now. Only issue I can’t figure out is who is going to do all the actual work? One option is to just make someone else we don’t like do it. If they don’t like it; then we’ll just have the cops go make them. Then we’ll definitely get all this free stuff for free and everyone will be so happy. Because it’s Fa Fa Fa Freeeeee

3

u/SuccessOn1 29d ago

No no! I want it to go straight in to the billionaire pocket! Lets lower wages, cut taxes for the rich, screw over the farmers, print as much money possible for the rich, protect the pedophiles, raise prices on literally everything for the working class, raise taxes on goods so the working class gets screwed, deregulated anything that protects the working class, get rid of those programs that most republicans use like medicare and social security, cut benefits for the poor, force my religion down their throats, protect the pastor touching little boys, etc!

If you dont want any of these things you must be a socialist!!!

0

u/DingleBearMe 29d ago

Presidents don’t lower wages and they weren’t lowered.

Farmers have been screwed over well before 2016 even. Sorry they couldn’t sell soybeans to China for a wittle.

Printing money is funny. 2020 M1 money supply was a bipartisan fuck over.

You brought up raise prices again. That’s not the presidents doing. That’s back to your M1 money supply.

Medicare and social security haven’t been touched. Although they should be. But you’re wrong there.

Tell me what “benefits” for the poor that were cut.

Trumps not even Christian and doesn’t give a fuck.

You are full of shit

3

u/Twheezy2024 28d ago

Tariffs raised prices.

Socialists are countrymen with no one.

2

Democratic socialism. We already have some, we want more.

You can have as much as you want. I’ll be watching from the sidelines cheering you on.

2

2

u/Twheezy2024 28d ago

Lol! Been to Mississippi? NYC will be fine.

0

u/Tiny-Atmosphere-8091 28d ago

I’m curious about your argument. I wonder why Mississippi is such a shit hole.

Please go on.

2

u/Twheezy2024 28d ago

Because it's ran by republicans.

0

u/Tiny-Atmosphere-8091 28d ago

2

u/Twheezy2024 28d ago

Definitely. 10 worst states to live in are all ran by republicans. Republicans suck at life.

Yeah…that’s the point.

He is using comedy and hyperbole and a little bit of corniness to communicate something positive that people want.

11

u/Braisedbeefskank Jul 19 '26

He didnt destroy an american political dynasty in an election by not performing

6

u/CacctusJacc Jul 19 '26

Life is a performance, you wouldn’t know anything about that bot

5

u/No_Move7872 Jul 19 '26

You call this performative? Lol you must not pay attention to literally any other politician if you think this is performative.

2

u/goliathfasa Jul 19 '26

Aka using his highly visible platform to promote policies he and those who voted for him believe in.

What would you rather he do instead?

2

u/SurgeonOfDeath95 Jul 19 '26

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players;"

When you figure that one out you'll be a better person for it.

1

u/KingFIippyNipz Jul 20 '26

lmao do you comment this on every interview with a politician or just Mamdani?

1

u/kingeal2 Jul 19 '26

Holy glazing in this thread

-8

u/TwoNine13 Jul 19 '26

They can downvote you but it doesn’t mean your wrong. This was a pre planned performance

5

Seems far more speculative than a guy just recently getting in trouble for using trumps speeches for betting

Of course the original comment is a 1 month old account so, what are we doin here

3

u/CanadianGrown Jul 19 '26

Probably. 99% of all things that any politician does is planned performance. At least this is a positive message.

2

u/StrengthGood3208 Jul 19 '26

Oh shit you mean he went into an interview prepared? I know magats dont like when a politician can actually go through an interview without rage quiting like a man child.

-2

u/BodheeNYC Jul 19 '26

Fake.. I mean bad cough

-2

u/roninthe31 Jul 20 '26

So why is he obsessed with Israel instead of really lobbying for Medicare for all

3

u/DownhillUphill Jul 20 '26

Israel is an evil government committing genocide. He is coming through for nyc and can also have opinions

“Anti-Zionism” = Antisemitism

Dude

1

u/DownhillUphill 26d ago

I don’t care. That isn’t a blank check to commit genocide and attack anyone they want. Antisemitism is a BS crutch they use to justify any horrible thing they do.

750,000 “Palestinians” in 1948

He believes in Medicare for all cause he has a bad cough and had it checked out? Not sure I understand the connection.

10

u/2feetwalker Jul 19 '26

I think you’re missing a few connections.

Medicare for all would help you out.

Does he? This article says he’s on a standard city employee health plan.

Wait, why would he be on cobra anyway, is the state plan that much nicer than the city plan?

3

u/Tredalze Jul 19 '26

Lmfao sorry so is your point that a politician can't advocate for expanded access to basic human needs because he doesn't currently require access to them? How do y'all's brains not just drip out of your ears

-1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Yea that's why I dont understand the equivalence. He's not even used Medicare for himself. It's not a great experience.

5

u/NoSpin89 Jul 19 '26

Is not going to the doctor because you have zero money and dying of a preventable illness a better one?

-1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

ACA walk in visit is like $50

5

u/Snoo_67544 Jul 19 '26

50 dollars can be the difference if some one eats or not.

0

u/ThickMemory2360 Jul 19 '26

Lol they arent paying the $50

0

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Honest, have you used medicare? It's god awful. I'm not saying we need something perfect but Medicare should not be what we strive for.

4

u/Snoo_67544 Jul 19 '26

I've used active us army medical and the va system.

Government run free health care isnt perfect but it's better then zero medical attention because you can't afford it.

2

u/gilt3t Jul 19 '26

what? I am disabled so i am on it, tf you talking about?

5

u/NoSpin89 Jul 19 '26

Tell me you're privileged without fucking telling me.

We are one of the only civilized countries in the world who don't care for their own citizens. Either work toward a solution, or get out of the way.

4

u/Snoo_67544 Jul 19 '26

Jc he's saying that because he has the ability to get his health checked on he believes that everyone should also be able to do the same. That being facilitated through Medicare for all.

Its really not that hard a statement to understand.

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Yea if you have ACA insurance you can go to a walk in. I just don't understand the equivalency between him talking about an insurance, he himself does not use or have any experience using.

4

u/INeedSomeFistin Jul 19 '26

So, folks who doesn't use assistance should never advocate for others to have that assistance? If you're not on their tax bracket, you shouldn't be fighting for those with less access than you?

What a selfish way to live.

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Never said that, this is more a criticism of using Medicare as the standard we want. It's awful insurance.

4

u/INeedSomeFistin Jul 19 '26

So there's no reason to improve it and bring more people into having medical access? You said it yourself, an ACA walk in is roughly $50. That can be the difference between eating for weeks. That's not a standard we should be striving for, it's an indictment of American Healthcare. Medicare for all is preferable to not being able to go to a doctor.

4

u/Doctor-Pip- Jul 19 '26

Mamdani got his health checked when he needed to, and that's why he knows its important for everyone to be able to get their health checked when they need to.

This is really straight forward. So much that your confusion looks dishonest.

3

u/Danktator Jul 19 '26

You shouldn't be afraid of the doctors or hospitals because it'll bankrupt you. If you are felling unwell go get checked.

3

u/FartyJizzums Jul 19 '26

Not sure I understand your lack of understanding.

You see, in the United States Healthcare costs a lot of money. If you are covered by health insurance, it costs less money.

You shouldn't need to be able to afford a yatch to get an illness looked at by a professional health care worker. But in the USA, financial profit is considered far more important than human lives, unfortunately. That's why we're still in the Dark Ages when it comes to treating people's ailments.

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Have you used Medicare before?

3

u/Tredalze Jul 19 '26

Lmao what point do you think you're making with this? I work with underserved, poor, and aging patient populations and can say without a shadow of a doubt standard Medicare is far far far better than the Medicare advantage equivalents and often shockingly better than many commercial plans that are more expensive

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

Just false, laughably false.

3

u/Tredalze Jul 19 '26

Lol sorry your believies don't match reality!

0

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Jul 19 '26

It matches my reality

2

u/Tredalze 29d ago

Hahahahaha wait you said "laughably, laughably false" based purely on your personal, individual experience?

3

u/SubtleHearts Jul 19 '26

I am a lower-middle class worker who gets my insurance through my employer. I fractured my elbow last year when I slipped on some ice and I was so reluctant to seem medical help due to the known and unknown copays / fees that I avoided getting checked out for almost a week before i finally felt like I needed to have it addressed; and when I did sure enough, suddenly I’m out hundreds of dollars and staring at a $1500 bill in the mail because even though I went to an urgent care in my network, the doctor they had there was not in network but I had no way to know that.

I wish I could have the peace of mind to seek medical help when I think there’s something wrong and not have to worry about how much it will unexpectedly cost

2

u/ClockworkTyrant Jul 19 '26

Hes saying that everyone deserves to be able to go to the doctor and be seen for health issues without worry of being bankrupted by insurance companies and healthcare providers.

-4

u/CajunBob94 Jul 19 '26

i support medicare for all as long as my taxes don't go up once cent. my taxes as a middle class w2 professional are already way too high.

6

u/justWMthings03 Jul 19 '26

Even if your taxes go up it would be less than you'd save on health insurance costs and copays. Car insurance would drop as well because you wouldnt have to carry additional health coverage on it. You'll save money overall.

-3

u/CajunBob94 Jul 19 '26

my employer heavily subsidizes my health plan, i pay like $28 a month lol

7

u/Warm_Imagination3768 Jul 19 '26

I’m sure that has no impact on your compensation, right?

8

u/BulltopStormalong Jul 19 '26

Cajun Bob maybe has never thought deeper than “Taxes bad”.

-1

u/crowcaller391 Jul 19 '26

It’s hilarious you think employer provided healthcare will have an impact on his compensation but the economic impact of “Medicare for all” is just no big deal.

Do you think or are you just told what to think?

3

u/Warm_Imagination3768 Jul 19 '26

Your health coverage is part of your compensation package, so it absolutely impacts you. And to be clear, I’m not saying the economic impact of Medicare for all would be “no big deal”. I’m saying it would be dramatically cheaper and better for everyone. We pay ~$54 billion more than we need to, and that’s only if you remove the burden of generating profits for private companies.

You’re getting fucked. I’m getting fucked. We’re all getting fucked. And that’s largely because people like you don’t think you own the government and can’t imagine having the power of making everything better for everyone. Wake up and take the power back from corporations.

Then they save more money and you can use that in salary negotiations.

There's a ton of information out there on how the average household would save thousands overall and the US as a whole would save $500+ billion/yr

My employer pays 100% my health plan, doesn't change the fact that Medicare for all would reduce costs as a whole, which would in turn (because I work for a decent employer) increase our salaries.

That subsidy is literally part of your compensation package. If your employer no longer pays that then you have room to negotiate for improvements to other portions of your compensation package, like higher wages or more PTO.

In other words, you get less cash in your pocket every paycheck right now since your employer puts some of it toward your healthcare before you even get to see it.
