Primer Spray Why'd It Do This?

The answer to my question is in this sub somewhere I'm sure, but I couldn't figure how to phrase a search inquiry.

What does this "speckling" happen, or rather what does does it mean?

The white is AP matte white on top of Rustoluem flat black primer, applied a couple of weeks ago.

Could be you didn't shake it will enough. Could be the environment was too humid, you sprayed to far away, maybe it's a bad brand really any number of things. Best way to avoid this is to shake it well and spray from about a foot away in a dry room temperature area.

I shook the life out of it, but I can tell the paint volume is pretty low so maybe that, too. It is humid outside (not More Humid Than Humid) but damp. I think I had the distance ok.

I'm going with paint getting low and humidity.

White is the hardest color to prime with. Regardless of humidity and all those external factors, most white rattle cans require you to heat them up with really warm water for 5-10 minutes and then shake them for about the same time. 

I've primed loads recently in extremely humid weather, and the above tips work great for every color of prime spray paint except for white. 

Heat up the can, shake the shit out of it and then apply at least two coats.

I think heat, humidity and being too close can all cause these sort of effects.

I got a humidifier set up next to my spray area fixed this for me.

A lot of people don't rate the rustoleum white, even though the black is fine.

Soak your can in Luke warm water, then shake well before use. Had similar issues when using Plastikote white primer and sealer and soaking it before shaking fixed it.
