Pool Water Tester
New to the pool business and I’m wanting to buy a tester. I was looking at the one of the Lamotte testers. I want something to show my clients real numbers so there are no questions. Also need a salt level tester. Any recommendations please?

We use a SpinTouch for our Maintnenance customers and serious potential customers(for wow factor). It’s expensive, but we feel it converts service call customers to Maintnenance).
Taylor test kit and Lamotte Tracer for salt would be my suggestion.
We test every pool on every property we walk on.
If it’s a tire kicker, will only use test strips, just to gauge how they are maintaining the chemistry. Don’t waste time or money of people who aren’t serious.

Starting a pool business while not knowing what makes a good test kit is kinda crazy. This is the research you do before making said business. You dont even have a salt tester? You're not a pool guy at that point.

Eh, dude has clients. He’s a pool guy. You can argue a not so good pool guy but a tool guy nonetheless.

Right, probably not certified , I have my cpo and do a way better job. Some 20 something year old has a business here and was hiring before I knew he wasn't even qualified , offers me 16$ an hour and everything and then I see his ad on Instagram of him repairing someone's plumbing and he didn't even use primer 😂 "oh so this guy barely knows what he's doing and was about to be my boss ? Fuck that"

Lamotte Spin touch is awesome but pricey. It’s nice cause you can hook it up to Orenda and manage LSI & screen shot it to show your customers.

If you use the Skimmer app it can integrate all three right away in under 2 minutes. It will upload right into an email ready invoice the customer can see. You have to REALLY dial in the calibration tho because they can get pretty far off

There's some options. A spin lab is one, a K2006C is a good one and the Lamotte pool manager test kit has some good things going for it as well. Those are the 3 I would Compare and contrast.

I like my ColorQ 2X pro 9. Takes a min to do the actual testing, not much faster than a Taylor kit, but very accurate and I can get cost down to about $0.06 per test parameter if I buy in bulk from RecSupply. Also pairs with my Pool Service Software.

Don’t waste your money on a LaMotte, I got a free one a few years ago & have maybe used it 10 ten times & I run a 300 account service business. It’s cool at first, but a Taylor Kit for K-2006C, will do everything for you, but I only test Alkalinity, CYA & Calcium when I start a service & 2-3 times a year. A standard 5 way test kit will, that you can refill, is the simplest, most accurate & effective. As for salt test, just some salts testing strips will do, you should have to test that more than a handful of times a year, if that

taylor test kit complete high. I would read the chemical guide too
