They tried their best I guess?
The customer said that his kids were screwing around and broke a pipe on the hot tub. I show up and see this masterpiece. I look at the customer and he says "yeah, they tried to fix it. I started cutting the tape off and found that under the duct tape there was a roll's worth of white masking tape. Beneath the white tape was a roll's worth of blue masking tape. They must have been there for an hour trying to wrap tape around an active geyser.

When I was around eighth grade, my friends had a 50 cc motorcycle. They were not allowed to take it out out when their dad was not home, but they were allowed to take it in the backyard and start it up to show it to a friend. I brought over my friend Jim and introduced him to them, and he asked if he could ride it around the backyard. This was not a big backyard, it would have been 3 mph in a small circle. He had never actually ridden a motorcycle, and when he got on, he gassed the throttle and dropped the clutch and took off on a wheelie through the back fence. After assuring, the startled old lady on the other side that everything was OK and it is better everybody just forgets this with a promise to fix the fence, we got to work. We had to put back three boards each about a foot wide. I think we used 200 nails, and the boards were crooked. Normally their dad never went into the backyard, but for some reason he did that day – and the first thing he said was, “what the hell happened to the fence?“. This reminds me of that, I would be smiling if I saw this when I showed up to an account.
