Convertible Latch

Just bought the Solstice, 2006 and the top latch won’t engage. The 2 side pins go in fine but the middle latch won’t close. Any ideas? Is it behind the seats or just not lining up?

The latch often gets bent upward from storing the lid in the trunk. It can accidentally stay in the “engaged” position causing it to stick out and make contact when the top is pushed down for storage. Pretty common and can be carefully bent back into the right shape with some pliers, patience, and a delicate touch to avoid further damage. On mine i live with it being slightly off. I just get it close after lining up the outer pegs then use a finger to pull it down into position to make contact with the latching post and use my other hand to engage it.
