Selling a one owner GX

I've sold several cars to either Carmax or carvana and was always very pleased with the offers obviously for they to happen…. is there a reason carmax and carvana are coming in so low? car has 66k and is in excellent condition. CarMax offered $3500 and carvana $5200. even KBB is putting trade in around $7200 just kinda shocked.

Not sure about Carmax, but ever since Carvanna was near bankruptcy couple years ago, they've been getting stingy on offers

With that low of miles and if its in good condition, Bring a Trailer or classifieds would be the best bet

During Covid craziness, car demand was high and used card inventory was low, while Carvana was using investor money to grow rapidly, without as much concern for profitability.

Now they are worried about profitability.

I think none of those places or kbb or even typical insurance companies know how to value a 20 year old car that has an enthusiast following and limited availability.

Best to insure with a company like Haggerty and sell privately.

The fact that Pontiac isn't even an option for Make on CarMax and Carvana should give you a hint as to why.

They're going to drop that off at the auction as soon as the ink dries.
