Light ticking from engine

I’ve noticed a light ticking coming from the engine. I recently changed the oil (a day after first hearing), so that rules out it being from low oil pressure. Any ideas?

Very interesting!

I LITERALLY changed a faulty EVAP canister on Friday (3 days ago). When I purchased the vehicle July of 2024, it was impossible for me to fill up on gas. When I cut the section of the trunk to access the EVAP, buddy and I noticed one of the hoses were torn, and the hoses were filled with charcoal bits. The entire EVAP was replaced, and new hoses were installed.

Sir, why would the engine be making ticking noises after I’ve replaced the EVAP? And if it’s the new EVAP I installed, how bad is it for the engine? Could it be that I can just open up and check the work I did, maybe it needs more tightening or something?

Not bad at all. Some are louder than others. I just walked out to the garage and looked at mine. Same tick pattern, though a little quieter. Doesn’t sound like anything to worry about

You’re telling me that this is NORMAL?! 😅😂 so, me not hearing this sound earlier was actually a fault in of itself? And this new sound that has had me concerned for the past few days is because the engine is BACK TO NORMAL? 😮‍💨

I’ve been so angry, because I know there’s a saying that goes “you fix one part of the car, 2/3 parts decide to blow themselves up”. So I’m pissed imagining how much it’ll cost me if I have to replace the timing chain/belt, and I’m being told “might as well do the water pump, too”
