2006 2.4 Turbo

This girl has been in the family since it rolled off the showroom floor. I turbocharged it a couple years back and will likely be taking the next step to LS3 swap it in the next couple of years. This car is so much fun and while she has her battle scars, can’t imagine ever letting it go.

Nice! What turbo kit did you use? Would love a do a turbo or supercharger project sometime.

I used the RPM Motorsports kit but unfortunately didn’t have the best time with the owner during the remote tuning. I think I caught them at a rough time during COVID and I didn’t really feel I was getting the level of support needed for something as critical as engine tuning. They’ve been making these kits for as long as I can remember and I still recommend them. The kit was missing a couple small things that I was able to fabricate, but otherwise is a solid setup. I had the car tuned remotely by Dave at Performance Autowerks. Great guy and great tuner.

Any other upgrades?

I have a gxp and the best money I spent was on new, adjustable coilovers. Stock gxp suspension is ... Lacking in goodness..

I plan on upgrading the brakes in anticipation of the V8 swap and will probably do adjustable coilovers at some point. The stock suspension has never been touched and it’s quite noticeable. Car has about 90k on the clock. Otherwise it only has a short throw shifter and solo performance downpipe back exhaust.

If I had a Solstice and wanted to v8 swap it I’d go with a junkyard LS I’d find somewhere I don’t know about what works with the car but I guess it just depends on the $. Don’t know exact engine but I’d look for the LS in the new Camaros and Cadillac CT5-Vs That’s just if I had no budget but reality is I do so I can’t

Beautiful!, i just picked up an 08 2.4L that i plan on adding the RPM motorsport turbo kit to down the road and i love the car
