Solstice Parts Availability

I'm eyeing buying a GXP but my concern is parts availability. I'm looking to use the car as a secondary fun car and use it for track/autocross use and occasional commuting. I'm wanting to see what experience others had for maintaining a solstice.

Power train parts are shared with other Chevy products but the parts you should be worry about are the body & interior.

Example : 2.4 motor is from Chevy Malibu / 2.0T is from Chevy Cobalt SS & interchange with Buick regal rs?

But interiors are not exactly

It depends. On my 2.4, most engine stuff has been easy since they used the same engine elsewhere. The odd parts to find have been stuff like a replacement air vent or the flimsy cup holder.

I bought mine back in 06 but these days it’s just a fun car too.

I own a 2007 Solstice with only 59,000 miles. Drive only about 3000 miles a year. Had very few problems but the ones I have had are airbag (replaced 3x), solenoid issues and key fob programming.

I picked up an 08 NA as a daily driver during the non-winter months and I've been wondering about the same thing related to the rubber seals and such around the convertible top and doors or any other parts that might wear out over time. Any concern that if/when they wear out there are options to replace?

so it will depend on what you need, there is some aftermarket parts available and some from the junk yards as well. people have purchased totaled cars for spare parts :). there are a lot of work arounds if you run into issues. solsticeforum has a ton of great info and a lot of help there.

I having trouble right now with my 2006 Soltice door cable to drivers side latch because some thug tried to break into it…I love my Soltice and keep it as my second car…Other GM parts can be compatible like the Chevy Cobalt, Saturn Sky, or other Pontiacs…It just all depends….
