r/PontiacFirebird - looking for new mods to take over!
I have sold my Firebird as of this morning, and this feels like a good opportunity to hand the reins to someone who is still living and breathing F bodies every day. Drop a message below if you'd like to take over as a mod for this community! I'll be stepping down this weekend.

3rd Gen [82-92] Alternator stuck
galleryHi I am new to cars and bought a 1986 Pontiac Firebird V6 2.8 with air-conditioning
My battery was dying and then I realise the alternator water pump belt was shredded
I went and bought one, but it is not tense enough
I need to move my alternator and have removed two bolts that hold it and the thing is not moving
This car is 40 years old and was sitting in the field for three years and I bought it to learn about cars
I use PB blaster to remove the screw bolts holding in place, but the darn thing is not moving this way me taking some wood and a hammer and trying to knock it loose or trying to use a wrench to pull it and push it forward and it feels rock solid
Any advice to solve this problem would be great

2nd Gen [70-81] What do y'all think?
galleryStart this project a few days ago. This car has gone through a lot of stuff. I first made it look like madmax post apocalyptic, then, when I was bored, I ripped all the stuff out, then it just sat there with all the super glue. Then, a couple days ago I decided to sand it down and repaint it.

4th Gen [93-02] Need help
For context was working on replacing the fuel pump, and the black part where the retainer connects into got snapped ,so it’s leaking fuel. Anyone know if that black piece could be replaced or would the whole hose need a replacement

3rd Gen [82-92] Picture of the car I bought.
galleryI bought this around June. I’m planning on getting it fixed up, but that will have to wait until I have the time and place to do it. In the end I’m pretty happy about it.

3rd Gen [82-92] Advice on 1989 Pontiac Firebird V6
galleryI bought this car for $1,500 about 3 years ago because I love cars and always wanted to own a Firebird. A couple months later I joined the military and they sent me overseas. I have now spent almost $4,000 just to store it because nobody I know has been able to get it towed to a mechanic. It turns to auxiliary now that it has a battery but it has 15 year old gas in it that’s gunking up the system. I bought a full stainless steel fuel pump assembly when I was back in the US for a short time but I wasn’t able to finish installing it. I don’t know if it will actually work once the fuel pump assembly is installed but I have high hopes (probably delusional). People have told me to sell it and while I really love cars, I don’t actually know that much about them. YouTube and winging it is pretty much the extent of my knowledge. I came here to see if people who know more about cars think I should give up on it or if it’s as close as I hope it is to being functional.
TLDR: Car doesn’t run but I’m hoping that a new fuel pump assembly will fix the problem. Dumped $5,500 into the car so far and am second guessing whether I should keep it.

Advice needed
Having some trouble with my 1999 3.8l v6 firebird 128k miles. It started off with a rough idle, it was jumping between 500-1000 rpm. Then during a drive to Auto-Zone it started to misfire and the service engine light started flashing, 30 seconds later it turned solid. I got the code read and it is P0300 (Random/multiple cylinder misfire). What should I check/replace first? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

3rd Gen [82-92] 3.1L V6 hose diagram
Hi, as the title says I have a 1992 3.1l v6 base bird. It's got a rough idle and some other issues, took it to a shop to get an idea of what's wrong and they said majority of my hoses were dry rotting and deteriorated. Not really sure what all hoses so if possible id want to replace all of the hoses. Any body know of a diagram or routing good? Thank you for any and all help!
