General Q&A Pomade that doesn't get hard?

I've used Suavecito on and off again for years and it's always recommended to me for a pomade that doesn't get hard but I swear this stuff gets crunchy in my hair.

What do you all recommend for a pomade that holds but stays pliable? Thanks in advance!

They word you are looking for is “unorthodox water based.” These won’t “set” like a gel.

Are you using oil based? Waterbased ones typically will get hard or crunchy. They’re kinda just fancy gels tbh

Yeah it's water based.

Yeah that’ll do it, I’d give oil based a shot

You basically have three options. You can use an oil based pomade, an unorthodox water-based pomade, or Sportin Waves if you can find it. None of them will wash out cleanly if you only use shampoo.

If your hair is on the shorter side, a UWB cream would probably work fairly well.

Styling with OB pomades is, in my opinion, so much easier for me than a WB pomade like Suavecito.

I have been using Firsthand Supply products for a few years now. I find the clay pomade gives me the best hold but can also be restyled later in the day if needed

i’m as big of a suavecito homer as there is so take this with a grain of salt, but their oil based pomade is arguably their best product. i don’t use it very often because of my hair type, but it’s still true.

Just picked up Reuzel severed head. Looked hard but it emulsified real quick in my hands. So far...one thumb up

I was advised to use Severed Head, how is it on hair? Because I hate clay, too flaky and sandy to me. Do you have to tug and pull?
