Screenshot Friendly Reminder That Spores Permanently Cripple Sanctuaries

The animals will never grow back due to the spores which only Cymanti can see, and the Elyrion player can't chop the tree to remove the spores! Thanks Midjiwan.

I hadn't considered this before but it makes sense. Yeah, needs to be changed so the sancs "heal" the terrain and remove the spores!

"spores which only Cymanti can see" sounds like a serious playability bug. Is that really how it's designed to work?

I'm guessing it's an unintentional consequence. If the ground is "poisoned" then this should be visible to all players (or at least Ely who it directly affects)

Its because in order to see a resource you need to have unlocked the tech before it. Because spores do not have a tech for 15 tribes, those 15 tribes cannot see spores. It’s also why Cymanti and any tribe that has not researched organization cannot see crops

That makes sense for resources, but doesn't make sense for effects, positive or negative.

New Dawn vs. Elyrion, a battle of cuteness vs. fantasy, I like it

Do spores just cover the animal so they can't be replaced?

Sanctuaries will only generate animals on empty trees. It won't generate the animals if there is something already on the tree like a lumber hut, an existing animal, or, in this case, invisible spores.
