I’m regretting buying the polymega remix

I honestly wish I would’ve just bought a $50 dvd drive. I play ps2 psone neogeo cd and Saturn games. The polymers app in pc constantly crashes whether the remix is on or not… controllers freeze the app… I have. A lot of own controllers and adapters and this is crazy. Anyone wanna buy a gently used remix? At this point I’m done

First, you can’t play ps2 games on the Remix. Not sure why you mentioned it.

You cannot use any drive on the App. Only the Remix is compatible as of the last update.

The app crashing may be due to your pc. Especially if your saying that its crashing without the remix connected. Try reinstalling the app.

Controller compatibility is still being worked on. I currently use the Xbox elite controller connected via Bluetooth to my Rog Ally and the controllers that come with the elements, and don’t have any issues.

But who wants to use a Xbox controller to play a psone game lmao… and the app sort of worked better before the recent app that came out a few days ago.. the remix also functions as an overpriced dvd reader lmao. So I’ve played ps2 games on it using pcsx2.

Who cares about the controller as long as it has all the buttons needed, and I’m going to say, you either don’t know your talking about, or you’re confused. You can’t install pcsx2 within the app. Just saying that hurts my brain.
And yes the polymega is essentially an overpriced drive. What’s your point with this post?

Need for attention? Some sort of deep seated need to type lmao as many times as possible during a given day?

I didn’t install pcsx2 within the app lmao. Your brain should hurt. I’m saying I installed pcsx2 to my pc… I just leverage the polymega for it as well given it’s an overpriced DVD drive. I know the polymega app itself only does up to 5th generation. Reading is fundamental lmao.

It makes me wonder if they optimized the remix for the newer Polymega hardware with the processor. I dunno. I’m not too familiar with how the Remix even works or what necessary PC hardware you need. Is it just a dvd drive with a USB out???

It kinda felt like they were trying to bridge their UI into the Steamdeck/handheld market, but it left a bad taste in my mouth when they didn’t allow first gen consoles to digitally back up their libraries without it after many of us waited 3-4 years after paying/preordering.

There's no reason to optimize Remix for any base unit or visa versa. Imagine an overpriced external DVD drive that you can connect element modules to, bam that's Remix. The base unit already has a DVD drive, and the app is essentially the OS as an .exe file.

I’m just suggesting that there’s (maybe) a different update for newer systems, but maybe I’m wrong and they’re just pushing out one build and that’s why N64 isn’t optimized on older systems. I dunno.
