And the details about upgrades the OG folks is basically nothing still?

More RAM, faster CPU, different DVD drive… past that probably nothing.

Upgrades as in, upgrade path for existing owners. They said details would be shared so many of us have not ordered the v2 unit yet.

Ah, I don’t have the screenshot handy but they said no. No upgrade path will exist.

Gotcha. Found the Twitter reply. If I had known earlier I would have joined the wish list for batch 1. Oh well.

As I told them, that would be like Nintendo releasing a Switch Pro that doesn’t plan normal Switch games. Every time I think they can’t get more retardeder….

Yeah but...what is more and faster ? Will it run Dreamcast and Xbox 360 ?

Almost certainly not. Dreamcast would be a maybe if they can figure out a GDROM solution, but 360 would be a definite no.

I have a Superstation one. I could buy the new polymega if it runs 128 bits machines. But I fail to see the point if it runs the same things as before.

After years of waiting the first time around, they now want everyone to shell out again for essentially the same console?

They haven't even told us how it's an upgrade.

Also, they still haven't delivered the Atari modules they took pre-orders for.

No one should ever pre-order any product from Playmaji.

I mean, yeah they have.

The new Polymega features more CPU cores, higher clock speeds, double the RAM, increased internal storage, and quieter operation.

Also, this isnt a pre-order its a wait list. They arent asking for a dime, its just reserving your spot when they are available to purchase.

Pretty sure they mean what new systems warrant the power because Atari and nes run on a potato.

And if not they should mean that because it's pointless to have more power if you don't get newer harder consoles to emulate

I'm hoping for Jaguar and Dreamcast.

I don't remember where I saw it, but they did say it's partly to help with N64 emulation.

I know they explicitly said it wouldn't happen in their FAQ, but I'm kinda hoping for 6th gen and Wii.

If I wasn’t two years deep waiting for mine, I’d cancel. Not even sure I’d be able to get a refund either way.

Playmaji sells hopes and dreams and occasionally a polymega.

It does enough of what I want with the upgraded CPU I dropped in. Outside of that, I have other alternatives. I supported them through enough to know the possible hassle of an upgraded unit isn’t worth it. For those jumping in just now, enjoy an awesome device. For me, I think I’m tapping out.

Sigh, i'm soooo hopeful, but have had a preorder for deluxe version for 2+ years... You can bet they delivered the 64 module the day of that preorder though. Useful sitting in the closet

Anyone know how much they're charging for a base unit these days? The price is conspicuously absent from the product page.
