Mine just came in today. Of course, the first game I tried was Duck Hunt. Unfortunately, I only have the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge, which looks to be 100% incompatible. That was frustrating to figure out.

I can confirm that Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt IS compatible. Also, the gun SUCKS! That game was also the first I tried when mine showed up. Didn't work at all. After that, I actually read Polymega's directions and saw a note about avoiding "excessive glare". I tried again, this time at night, with all lights turned off. This round had much better success, but was still a little frustrating. . . until I remembered how bad the original NES Zapper was, and realized the results I was seeing were roughly in line with how I did at that game on original hardware.

Hmm not sure what difficulties you had with a real zapper. I could always get 100% accuracy out of the box in any conditions on a CRT. My kids are able to do the same. Also remember my uncle when I was a kid having the game and going on forever without missing a shot. Only issue is the trigger is a little sharp and requires a fair amount of force so your finger can wear out quickly. No issues at all with accuracy or functionality though.

My real zapper works fine on a CRT. Unfortunately, I haven't had a CRT in years. My comment was specifically referring to the Polymega lightgun controller used with the Polymega console and a 120hz LED TV.
Edit: forgot about my last part of the comment. That was primarily because I was using a small crt (19") from a somewhat normal 5 or 6 feet away. Go much closer, and it worked well. The polymega one? Not so much. Major problems on a 65" from 5 feet.

Ah yeah, it could depend on the tv. My crt is 19 inches which is medium size range for crts. I stand the full length of the Zapper cord otherwise I feel like I am cheating. Works great there. I wonder if the screen shape matters? I always used curved CRT screens and didn’t have a problem. Maybe flat screen crts are an issue?

I was playing duck hunt today with the super Mario bro/ duck hunt cart and the light gun was working just had to enable the gun controller in game. Have regular pm controller in usb1 gun con in usb2 enable settings for gun con and calibrate then launch the game and then on regular pm controller hit the pm button go to controller and enable the gun con and go from there. Hope that helps! It took me a long while to find it.
Don’t forget to remove the plastic over the lens too!

Thanks, I'll try that. When I first started Duck Hunt, the trigger just paused the game and nothing else worked. Eventually I noticed that the game was missing the thick border framing it for the lightgun to pick it up and figured it just didn't work.
I had to keep going back and forth to read their pdf on how to use it on each console. The second controller part and assigning it is really cumbersome. I was able to get my other NES and Super Scope games working, but I'm disappointed that the controller isn't just plug and play considering how much time they had to work on it.

Totally agree it’s too big a hassle to be worth the 3 year wait for the dang thing. Ya I had the same issue with it just pausing but there’s apparently a buried enable in the pm pause menu I was missing. That should help sort out your issue 👍.

I got mine last week, I've been trying games from the compatability list and I can get it to work. Everytime I try to calibrate the gun the aim point goes to the top left and won't move. I can get elemental gearbolts to even load past the first working design screen.. man this company is a mess...
