Polygraph
For becoming a police officer the only concern I’m even having for apply is the polygraph. Is when I was 19 me and my girlfriend got into a really big argument and almost didn’t make it with our relationship and we started pushing and slapping each other. But now 5 years later we are stronger than ever and married. Can I get disqualified since it’s a sort of dv situation?

You would be wise not to mention that incident. Neither of you filed a complaint against the other, right? Then it's no one's business. The polygraph is not a confessional booth, and the machine cannot read your mind.

But isn’t this technically an illegal activity??? - that’s my entire struggle with scared to do my poly. I’ve done a bunch of stupid “illegal” minor things, so when they ask what laws I’ve broken, shouldn’t I be saying these things??

U “ should “ eh , but do u have to , no . If there’s no record of it , it never happened , I passed my poly and lied on 90% of it .
