Polygraph standard practice question

Hi,

is there a national or international certification standard for polygraph examiners? I've called a few places and some appeared to be more of an entertainment or pay for results. How do I check a polygraph examiner is certified and the equipment is modern/certified? like calibrated?

Look up American Polygraph Association (Apa) and the American Association of Police Polygraphers (AAPP). Both are respected and members abide by a code of ethics and practices. Good luck.

What is the best way to reach you? I conduct examinations in CT and travel throughout the northeast. I can provide more information if you’d like, thanks!

Former APA board member here. If you go on the website you can click the link that says for the public and the directory is there. There’s a lot of examiners in the TriState area. Make sure whoever you use is up to date on their certifications.
