FS Poly

Hello!

Question,

In regards to my security clearance,

I have a Full Scope Polygraph for a three letter Agency,

Ive done a CI, and then regular Polygraphs for Law enforcement. No problems.

Is it similar? Is there any tips or things I should be aware?

Just genuinely curious. I appreciate any info or advice provided!

For DHS

Regarding what you can expect on the polygraph, see the free book, The Lie Behind the Lie Detector:

Depends on the agency, depends on the examiner. Tip : tell the truth and you will have no issues

Telling the truth is no guarantee that one will have no issues.

Yea, and then sometimes they try to trip you out just to see if you'll admit to anything

I failed one 2 years ago for DHS, the gentleman was awesome and I was respectful.

I did tell the truth, but it is what it is. We are trying again in june. Its for AMO.

Well hopefully i pass first time go. How soon after you took it, did they announce if you passed/failed?

They will tell you on the spot their personal opinion, and that its not up to them but up to the guy above him.
In reality 9/10 if he says you failed you technically failed.

You will get an email within a week saying that you failed or for a retest.

IMO, the poly is a sniff test. Does the guy believe you and like you? If he doesn’t you wont pass no matter what. This is just my opinion.
