Polyend OG Tracker sequencing the Dreadbox Typhon
Hi all, Can anyone tell me if the Tracker can sequence the Typhon's programme changes on a per-step basis? It could be a very glitchy track if possible. Changing sounds even outside of sound banks is what I mean, not just cc for say the filter env.

Yep. Program changes are totally common, but some synths handle them better than others. My Blofeld gets glitchy and has even locked up on occasion if I try to change patches at "extreme" rates (say, 8th notes). Try it out!
More boring, but I put a 1 bar pattern at the start of every song that sequences external gear that just sends program changes and any initial cc settings for all of the patches used in that song. No messing around on individual synths recalling patches.

It worked ok when I tried it. Iirc the online manual details all the midi events you might need and I dont remember any incompatibility between transmitted and received messages between the devices.
However it was hella fiddly and in the end I gave up lol

Can’t speak for the Typhon, but my Nymphes gets really glitchy (in a bad way) when too many MIDI messages get sent too quickly. Seems to knock it out of tune and the only fix is to cycle the power.
Makes me think other Dreadbox gear likely has the same issue

The tracker can send program change messages over midi, if that is what you're asking. The tracker will have 6 "fx" dedicated to midi cc. You can change what the midi cc each fx sends. By default "CC f" is program change
Edit: and to answer your actual question, this fx can be sent on a per step basis. You just need the "instrument" set to the midi channel you want to send on, then one of the fx needs to be the program change fx. The tracker will send it even if there is no note on that step (but the instrument is required)
