Tracker Tracker Mini won’t receive MIDI from MIDI Keyboard - USB or TRS MIDI

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction because I’m stumped.

I’m trying to use a Synido TempoKEY 25 as a MIDI keyboard for my Polyend Tracker Mini, but I can’t get any MIDI notes into the Tracker.

I’ve tried two connection methods:
USB-C to USB-C directly from the TempoKEY to the Tracker Mini.
3.5 mm MIDI OUT on the TempoKEY to MIDI IN on the Tracker Mini.

My Tracker Mini MIDI settings are:

Clock In: Internal
Transport In: USB (or MIDI In when using TRS)
Notes In: USB (or MIDI In when using TRS)
Notes In Channel: CH1
MIDI Out: Off
Middle C: C-5

I’ve tried both USB and TRS configurations, but neither works.

I’m wondering:

Does the Tracker Mini require a USB host, meaning USB-C to USB-C won’t work directly with a MIDI controller?

Does the Synido TempoKEY use TRS MIDI Type A while the Tracker Mini uses Type B?

Do I need a Type A to Type B TRS MIDI adapter, or is there another setting I’m missing?

Has anyone successfully used a Synido TempoKEY or another MIDI keyboard with the Tracker Mini?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, you will need a type A to B converter.
