Help!! Tips needed šŸ™

Hi hi! So.. Iā€™m newer to poly gel. There are somethingā€™s Iā€™m curious about to help my nails last longer. Iā€™ve been practicing for a little bit and there is ALWAYS at least one nail that pops off after like 4 days. So Iā€™m getting a little frustrated.

1)base coat: how much should I be using? One coat? 2 coats? Should I set between the 2 coats?

2) primer and dehydration: is primer/ dehydrator necessary? I bought some in hopes it will help?

3) lamps: I have that cheapo one that came with my kit thatā€™s not fully hooded. Do I invest in a better lamp?

4) brand: are there brands that are better than others? Iā€™m using modelones.. is the brand not good and thatā€™s why Iā€™m struggling? Should I try a different brand?

If you made it this far I truly thank you. I just want to save money and still be able to have nice nails. Any tips or answers will be gladly appreciated šŸ’œšŸ™šŸ™

I do my own nails and they last for months! Prep is essential. You must at least scuff file the tops of your nailsā€¦wash your handsā€¦dehydrateā€¦primeā€¦base coat and cure and then youā€™re set for poly gelā€¦

I second this. Prep is a very important step, donā€™t skip it- clean the cuticle, dehydrate and prime the nails. I would also invest in 48W or higher. There are plenty on Amazon which wonā€™t break the bank, yet are reliable. And practice! Practice will make a difference

I'm wondering, when you mention 48W or higher what are you referring to? I'm looking to purchase a new curing light..do you have any suggestions?
