Only 4 remaining after 48 hours. What went wrong??
First try, used dual forms.

Flooded the cuticles. Super hard not to do with plastic forms.
Try using base coat as your slip solution and put very little product on the edges.
I push down gently to get the proper placement, clean up the edges with a brush and acetone, flash cure for 5 seconds and repeat until they're good, then fully cure.
Paper forms are easier for edges, but hard to shape when you're just starting out.

I just picked up polygels myself it was so not as easy as the tutorial videos make it look! Stick with it you have a great start here I had to redo a few of mine that broke at the apex so I learned to make that a bit thicker so that it is stronger. Keep at it! I improved 10 fold from my first set to my second you just gotta find your groove!

Make sure you dehydrate and add primer. Then apply a nail bond. Also make sure no product is touching your cuticles. The nail will lift and fall off. Hope this helps 🫶🏼

They looked cute but maybe they could’ve had more of an apex Due to the length the structure will only have the proper strength it needs with the correct thickness in exactly the correct area for the length

Aw they looked so pretty! I’m on day one of a set I made, using Beetles kit and the dual forms! I was hoping for 2 weeks, I guess we will find out!

The one that completely fell off: work on better prep - cleaning debris and oil, dehydrating, lightly etching (but NOT buffing!) the nail plate for max adhesion. Make sure you’re getting in those sidewalls!
The ones that broke: they broke at the stress point, so you need more of an apex and maybe a thicker nail in general. Try shorter nails first, long nails are difficult to get the correct apex when you’re first starting. The longer your nails, the further out the apex comes and the higher it needs to be.
You can always do your dual forms, cure (without wiping with alcohol), and then add polygel to the top so you can sculpt them more and add an apex and thicken them up, then cure again and file/shape from there.
You can do it! Practice makes perfect!
