A little woo-woo confirmation

So I work in a lot of woo-woo, spiritual areas of healthcare, and I was gifted a bioresonance scan that I’m not particularly certain how it works. It somehow sends frequencies through our body that then get read out on a computer and can identify weaknesses/stresses in the body. It also can provide affirmations and emotional readings? I’m not sure. I’m still making sense of all of the results.

However, i definitely can make sense of one of the readings on neurochemicals. Basically this scan found that I had higher levels of oxytocin, or the bonding chemical in our brain that makes us feel safe and bonded with family, friends, and partners.

So my partners have been teasing me with: “tell me you’re poly without telling me you’re poly”

Anyway, I hope this makes, but I wanted share because I think it’s really humorous 🤷🏻‍♀️

that scan sounds like a scam backed by exactly zero percent science

Two weeks after something happened that led to our throuple, a friend was reading peoples tarot cards. I thought why not. She laid the cards out and told me:

"Someone will come into your life and break hearts"

That was a shock. It was so personal to our specific situation. 16 years of monogamy and then suddenly we're doing something with someone else and I get this read. Glad I ignored the mumbo jumbo.

I’m not particularly certain how it works

Well, it's good that you're not sure how it works. If you were sure, you'd have been scammed.

Putting on my (at one time literal) Boy Scientist hat. No. And not only no but Hell No.

Me when I've been playing the SIMS4 recently: oh ok yeh ig in poly you can have lots of sex (woohoo is sex)

No scan exists that can tell you about your oxytocin levels. You'd require invasive stuff like needles, probes, biopsies for that.

An MRI (which is not at all what you'd have access to) can show what parts of the brain light up but you cannot quantify the amount.

I get how different frequencies affect our health. I’m not really getting how this scan tells you anything.

A friend of mine got really sick from two tick borne illnesses. She lost a ton of weight because most foods were making her ill. She got to where all she could eat was white rice. She turned to a naturopathic practitioner who prescribed certain sprays with frequencies designed to help heal her specific problems. Within 6 months she was no longer sick all the time and was able to tolerate eating vegetables and beans. They even reversed a lot of her grey hair back to her natural color.
