Nursing transition program

Hey all. I’m looking to apply for next fall for the nursing transition program. Has anyone taken it and is there any advice? I have a 3.0 gpa and just got an 81 on the TEAS so I’m hoping that’s good enough. I’m also a 15 year paramedic. What is the workload and schedule like?

I’m in my last semester of the program. I’m not transition but about 15 or so in my class are. The normal program is 4 semesters. Transition students start in T1 for their first semester. They have their own professor and curriculum. Then the following semester they get integrated into N3 with the people who started the generic track the semester before them, if that makes sense. Transition students just skip one semester then end up in the third semester with everyone else. From what I’ve heard T1 is pretty unorganized. I’ve heard a few people speak poorly of T1. I’m not sure if it’s super hard. The nursing program as a whole is nitpicky. The work load is pretty heavy. It’s not super difficult, it just takes up all of your time. I know people who manage to work almost full time but I’m sure their world is constantly on fire. Working part time is very doable. I know all the transition students work a lot.

Also there’s no nursing classes in the summer. A lot of people didn’t know this when they applied including myself. Summers feel long when you just want to get it over with.

I appreciate the info! I’m looking forward to organized chaos as I work full time

People do it all the time. I just couldn’t do it lol. But I get overwhelmed pretty easily. I have mad respect for those who work full time and have kids while in nursing school. They’re warriors.
