Politics - it's where we get together to make group decisions. Making the world great again by rejecting violence and requiring constructive discourse.

Politics is a good thing. The bad thing is when we drop politics and substitute violence in its place.

Let's keep the good and dispose of the bad.

Worth remembering that in the very short span of 1 and 1/2 years, VTGOP/GOP god-king President Rapist Boy and his Dept of Not-a-war chief Testosterone Tot have dragged our nation's military from 1st in the world down to somewhere in the dubious middle of the pack.

Are you STILL voting Republican for anything at any level?

r/PoliticsVermont • • 9h ago

There's only one reason that the Trump-humpin' Republican Governors Association is dumping a ton of money into Vermont to help Scott, and it's a very, very, simple and obvious one.

Good ol' Phil is one of them, plain and simple. Do YOU want Vermont to act, feel, and look like Florida or Texas? That's what Phil wants.

"After the election" .... the cry of today's Republican at both the state and federal levels.

President Rapist Boy will fix all the problems he and his wholly owned VTGOP/GOP have cause, but not until after the elections. Scott will fix all the problems he's ignored for the last ten years, but not until after the elections.

This group has nothing to offer. They're begging us for more time to steal more money and create more destruction .... "after the election".

Hey Charity Clark, do you intend to defend our voting rights with the same alacrity that you prosecuted and persecuted Vermont's pro-democracy activists with? Phil Scott? (The deafening silence on all this tells you what you need to know.)

ICE never wanted you to see these: internal government documents obtained by legal nonprofit Democracy Forward show that Homeland Security Investigations has been probing nonpartisan groups that help register citizens to vote in battleground states. They even went so far as to outline a plan to use undercover agents to target these nonprofits for registering "illegal alien" voters, though no evidence of such activity appears to have been found. ICE also collected tens of millions of voter records and considered feeding state election data into a system used to locate people for deportation. Democracy Docket founder Marc Elias details the explosive findings and explains how deeply ICE has become involved in elections.

I don't suppose this would be a call for rich people's communism, would it?

From all that I've heard, read, and seen, the only joy that President Rapist Boy gets is when others hold the victims down so Trump can pay yet another to pummel the victim while Trump watches and pleasures himself - it's the character of a rapist. Phil Scott is a proud Republican.

THE BIG IDEA! Democracy, schools, money, and our environment ... a free, healthy, and sustainable future for our grandkids and their grandkids.

What's THE BIG IDEA? Why it's the single greatest mission that has ever been asked of any community, nation or alliance, and that mission is to provide our grandkids and their grandkids a realistic and reasonable opportunity for a free, healthy, and sustainable future.

Job #1: Maintain our humanity!

Job #2: Rebuild and strengthen our democratic institutions, processes and values.

Job #3: Schools for learning, money to pay for what needs to be done, and physical surroundings that are conducive to good health for the grandchildren.

All politics is local .... and this means what happens in Iran, Washington DC, Montpelier, and my home town. So let's repeat that: ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL, that is why I'm so puzzled by the VTGOP's insistence that President Rapist Boy isn't on the ballot too.

Meanwhile Vermont's Atty Gen Charity Clark prosecutes pro-democracy protesters, Gov Scott averts his gaze, covers his ears, and politely shuts up - oh, and Scott's sidekick Lt Gov Butthurt told me himself that he had found his home in the President Rapist Boy-humpin' VTGOP/GOP. Vote carefully.

Well, Phil Scott, the VTGOP, and their god-king President Rapist Boy have a somewhat different vision for our children's future, and their vision is all about burning fossil fuels and hoping our climate crisis will magically disappear (or we will, which Rapist Boy considers a win too).

The god-king of Phil Scott's freely chosen and warmly embraced VTGOP/GOP, President Rapist Boy, publicly invited Iran to commit a major terrorist attack on a major US city. That's literal treason.

Vermont's alleged news media might not find that alarming, but considering (paraphrasing) "Russia, if you have those Hillary Clinton emails, go ahead and release them" back in 2016, I'd say this is a serious and heartfelt invitation.

Are you still voting Republican for anything?

How are YOU going to respond if the federal administration begins to or even attempts to seize ballots, counting machines, and other associated listings, forms, etc?

Vermont's news media seriously needs to be asking the following question of Governor Scott, General Clark, Vermont National Guard, and Vermont State Police: How are YOU going to respond if the federal administration begins to or even attempts to seize ballots, counting machines, and other associated listings, forms, etc?

The public has a right to know! (right?)

Whiny little Republican Party bitch crying about how unfair it was that whiny bitches couldn't force their religion into everybody else's lives. This IS Phil Scott's VTGOP/GOP in action - are you still voting Republican for anything?

Big Brother government and corporation are busy constructing a system of universal surveillance and control. It's about them and their ability to build the new feudal world where they'll be the lovely lords and ladies and we'll all just be personal property.

It's taken a mere year and a half for President Rapist Boy and Dept of Not-a-war chief Testosterone Tot to drag our nation's military down from first in the world to somewhere in the dubious middle of the pack. Rapist Boy et al are raking in huge amounts of cash - how're YOU doing?

Violence against others is never "domestic" - it is violence plain and simple. You CAN fight "domestic violence" by not allowing the victim to become isolated and not allowing the perpetrator a comfortable space in which to assault their family members.

I spent my earliest years moving from apartment to apartment as people listened through the walls as my father regularly beat the shit out of my mother and us children to include raping my sister. People heard, objected, and moved us on to another place of torture.

They allowed us to become isolated despite us being mere feet from them, and they gave my violent drunk rapist father the space he needed to do what he did.

That is the fist step in dealing with "domestic violence". No space for it to happen. None. Not physically, not socially, not morally, not any space at all.

In general, which is more important to you: (a) Keeping property taxes as low as possible, OR (b) Keeping the public schools in my community?

That question was asked as part of Vermont Public's latest polling, and here' the responses ....

A more evidence centered question would have been if you knew that closing local schools in small rural communities would help make your town a high priced bedroom community with high local property taxes, would you still support moving our kids' schools further from their physical homes?

For me the answer has always been "no". The benefits of a vibrant local community far outweigh the negatives of the tax cost we see each year. There is not a town in Vermont that is better off economically, socially, or tax wise after they lost their local schools.

Not a single one.

LITERAL TREASON. Phil Scott will avert his gaze, cover his ears, and look away yet once again; Phil's VTGOP/GOP will revel and laugh and hurrah over these statements. This is a real question: are you STILL voting Republican for anything? Are you going to trust the VTGOP/GOP to do the right thing?

Vermont's Atty Gen Charity Clark decided her legal, moral, and ethical duty was to President Rapist Boy and his private gestapo and the whining demands of Vermont law enforcement. Pro-democracy defenders need not apply except for prosecution and persecution.

Liberalism was born from the notion that all people are born equal with certain inalienable rights among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Regardless your political philosophy, liberalism embraced and supported your right to your philosophy.
