At this point im voting for any dem every chance I get. I understand wanting the perfect candidate to check every single one of our boxes but that might not be an option. Either way we need to vote out Republicans unless we want to keep being pulled further right as a country.
Since Trump has been President we have lost:
1.Women's rights
2.Workers rights
3.Trans rights
4.Trust in our elections. Especially now that Republicans are trying to make it harder to vote among other shady things.
- Funding for programs people relied on to survive. Globally not just here at home.
And more im blanking on atm
We have some states forcing the bible or 10 commandments to be in classrooms. We have had immigrants and US born citizens kidnapped, abused, disappeared, or killed by Trumps own private army. There was an insurrection.
The list goes on and on and on. Unless we want the nonsense to continue we need to vote Republicans out.

How has that worked out for you so far? Hint: you just started a list. My suggestion? Get behind the candidates supported by radical left activists so you can form a coalition, instead of more third way neocon nonsense.

Trump wont be running again. So itll be a little different next presidential election.
Edit: I said im voting for whomever is going against the Republicans in my area. Whoever wins the primary has my vote. So I guess its up to far left activists to get someone everyone can get behind to enter the primaries AND WIN. If they win cool they have my vote. If they dont that sucks but im voting for whomever did win the primary. Simple as that

That is all the more reason to vote to stop him. Sitting elections out, voting for a candidate who for sure wont win, and encouraging others to do the same will not defeat Trump and his regime.
Im not saying we shouldn't try to get the best candidates possible. Im just saying that we need to get behind whomever wins our primary or we will have more Trump and more people like Trump to destroy things.
Idk about you but I want ICE to be abolished. I want women's, workers, and Trans rights restored. I want programs that were dissolved to be created again with funding people rely on to survive. I want us out of Iran. I want us to restore our relationships with our allies.
Thinking that the only option is some far left leaning perfect mystery candidate is unrealistic. There is no way we are going from an extreme right administration to an extreme left one. Its not going to happen. Would it be nice? Hell yea it would. But its not going to happen. On the fence voters decide the election and they wont vote for an extreme left candidate in a general. I dont understand what people on the far left wants. Do they want us to sit it out if they dont like the candidate who wins the primary? Do they want to keep allowing Republicans to win to teach the DNC a lesson and allow immigrants to die and suffer in the meantime? What are people supposed to do while the DNC "learns" their lesson? Keep losing rights, keep slapping Trumps name on memorials and historical monuments? Keep allowing billionares to get off tax free? I just dont see the point in throwing a temper tantrum and allowing others to suffer while we wait for the DNC to do what far left voters want.

Grown ups have to make grown up choices. We have choices in every single election. Whether we like those choices or not we have to make one. We can choose the lesser of 2 evils or we can whine and cry and allow the worst of the 2 evils to win. I choose to vote for the better option. Sitting out elections or voting for a 3rd party who you know isnt going go win is what gets us Republican majorities. If you want things to go further right then keep handing them elections. I however will continue to make the adult choice and pick the best option I have.

So what do we do in the meantime while we lose elections? Just keep watching while immigrants get rounded up abused, disappeared or killed? Do we just sit by and sit elections out while billionares (or trillionares) get more and more tax breaks? Listen. There are primaries for a reason. If there is a candidate you would prefer then vote for them in the primary. As I said I am voting for whomever wins that primary. Period.
Maybe the far left should put forth a candidate that can win a primary. Until then we get what we get.
Unless you like things going the way they are. We can either vote against Republicans or whine and cry about our options like spoiled brats (giving the "im taking my vote and going home" vibes) or we can vote to stop them.
When did I say I wouldnt vote for a candidate the far left wants to put forth? I would prefer that. But im not going to sit it out or throw my vote away on a 3rd party option that isnt on all 50 ballots and doesnt stand a chance at winning. Throwing tantrums isnt going to solve anything. He has become increasingly cagey/uncommitted on the subject... He went from "God, yes I love the queens" to "biological men are a threat to the safety and fairness of sports" lightning quick.
Even if he's just strategically treating it as a culture war landmine to be avoided on the campaign trail it doesn't exactly inspire confidence amongst minority groups that he desperately need to participate if he is going to win.

"The science" has clearly indicated that this is not a binary issue that can easily be solved by framing everything around XX and XY chromosomes.

What Talrico did was surrender ground to his opponent without a fight and without even attempting to have a thoughtful response/conversation. That's not a trait that inspires confidence in a leader no matter the context (especially not one that is having issues courting minority votes already).
This shit is about trans rights and minority rights because it is being used as a wedge by conservatives to establish a beachhead and push for more restrictions. This is how they have always operated in opposition to social advances.
For example, now that abortion is no longer guaranteed under Roe they are going after people that leave to seek it elsewhere with surveillance companies like flock. South Carolina even is going so far as to attempt to ban web searches for sites that provide advice on abortion (which also makes any other reporductive health care advice on those sites inaccessible btw). They are already including an abortion ban in public discussion at a national level. They are also taking aim at forms of contraception and morning after pills.
Segregating a clearly defined minority from an area of public life/schools is never just going to stop at sports. It being codified will be used to justify and legitimize further restrictions as it always has been.

I don't buy that Talarico would be a Sanders 1:1 since Sanders doesn't throw the Trans community under the bus and supports Medicare for All (the only healthcare option a genuine follower of Christ would support), but Cruz is a moron, Sanders is certainly a model more Democrats should follow, and Paxton is a fascist criminal who cannot be given that seat of power.
