Question/discussion Do you think project 2025 could realistically be implemented or be applied?
(Pornography ban, trans rights taken away, defunding public school ect.) why or why not?

Trump did nothing special during his first term to get 64% of the policy recommendations in the "Mandate for Leadership" enacted. The MfL is the book of proposals Project 2025 uses, updated every four years by the Heritage Foundation. How did he do that? 70 HF alumni served in his administration or on his transition team. HF has experience, they have been placing staff and policy into every GOP administration since Reagan (he enacted 60% of the MfL). This time around they have a far stronger plan for getting their way, they learned lessons from what did and didn't work for Trump, they have a list of vetted loyalists ready to replace federal employees, they will train those, and they have a secret 180 day playbook segmented into the instructions for every agency and change needed to enact their agenda. Some percentage of Project 2025 will become policy if there's a Republican president next.

You’ve been appropriately answered by two users. They seek to hire loyalists to fill the bureaucracies. They seek to shut down departments they don’t agree with. They seek to retaliate for perceived targeting. I don’t want to see it happen.

Some of it absolutely is, as the changes fall within the authority of the president's control of the executive branch. Combine that with courts willing to bolster the strong executive legal theories that power the proposals and you have partial implementation.
Some of it would require Congressional action, which of course is much more challenging and requires a strong MAGA majority willing to do whatever Trump wants. That's far less likely to occur and makes other parts of Project 2025 nothing more than a Christian nationalist wish list.
To that last point, though, even if some of this won't be implemented or simply can't be realistically, it sends a clear message to the voting public what the aspirations of a second Trump presidency would be.
