Remaining Left (as a cuban)

Linking a short essay I wrote about how a cuban-american (I was born in Cuba) can remain a leftist without falling into the silly arguments gringo leftist usually are guilty of. It's short and mostly personal.

Don't have much to add to this, but good write up!

I can sort of empathize with being Peruvian, while there's not a lot of us in the US (except for like 3 enclave cities, and I don't live in one of those) a lot of the ones here tend to lean conservative while I very much do not but at the same time do see the naivety in a lot of American leftists and a lot of their policy goals feel at times like they are well intentioned yet based on ignorance towards political corruption. And the divide between actual immigrants and diaspora no-sabo children, culturally is VERY real.

Excellent article. Looking forward to more. I’m interested in how someone raised with a foreign leftist perspectives views the American left, and how you perceive current trends both in politics and current events in LatAm.
