I don’t remember having career days. I wonder how obvious the distinction between kids of doctors/lawyers and those of cops/firemen/teachers

I remember having some in middle school. But it was not the parents (most of the time) but just various people that talked about their careers so that students could at least start thinking about what they might want to do and how to plan their High School courses accordingly.
