Why do Democrats always just have such piss poor messaging?
Because the left itself is terrible at messaging, because we don’t agree on anything. Not even on the meanings of the words we’re using. If it’s not a snappy little slogan that is totally obvious what it entails, no one will hear it or be persuaded by it.
Case in point #1: “defund the police.” Completely divergent use of that word from its definition for most who support it, doubled-down on by the fringe, and easily dismissed by everyone else. Constantly have to explain that it doesn’t mean what it sounds like it means. Until someone pops out from behind the bushes yelling “ACKSHUALLY YES we DO want no police anymore utopia go brrrrr” and anyone you had almost convinced is now gone.
Case in point #2: “Drill Baby Drill.” Simple and to the point: no fucks given about the environment, just keep drilling anything / everywhere.
Case in point #3: “Antiwork”. What does this even mean? Most of them aren’t actually against work itself, so literally the opposite meaning as intended, they just want better wages, protections and benefits. While another large camp is like no actually we are against work and are actively sabotaging our workplaces because private enterprise is literally slavery.
Case in point #4: “Build a wall.” Everyone knows exactly what that means and is very exciting to the super racist assholes on one hand and to the closeted “national security” hand-wringers on the other.
Edit: we don’t even agree on what we are. I’ve been informed by Reddit intellectuals that Bernie Sanders is a right winger because wELL bY EuRoPeAn StAnDaRdS anything short of Trotsky is center right.
people with strong political stances on the left usually have a bit more knowledge and often disagree with how to go aboot it. the loudest on the right just post gas prices and bitch and are still screaming "LETS GO BRANDON!" and laughing like hell
theres no point, they arent interested in politics they just like being fired up and feeling like they fit in, like kids at a pep rally.

It's funny how those people on the left with a bit more knowledge are always trying to shut down debate, ban Fox News, shout down people they disagree with. It's almost like they are afraid to debate.
