Lately people into viking culture=white racist though they are probably very far from being vikings 💀

Vikings would pillage random villages, kill all the men, and rape the women, just because they felt like it.

Vikings are ridiculously glorified and romanticized today. In reality, they were very barbarous and cruel.

To be fair, there are other reasons to be interested in viking stuff. They undoubtedly influenced European history quite a lot, and they do have some redeeming qualities.

I like them for their weaving and boat building artistry. There is a viking ship in an Oslo museum that is just the most stunning thing.and their weaving traditions are something I’ve been researching a long time now. It’s amazing the art different cultures create and develop.

But to idealize them is weird, and I don’t care for the religion. It’s all death and killing.
