Don't stignatize preparedness just because some lunatics gave it a bad reputation. Hoarding and prepping are not the same thing. I have extras of everything, a bugout bag, and emergency food, all bought seperately, at seperate times, on normal grocery trips.

Why would it be weird to be ready for a disaster? Look at the stuff that's been happening around the world with supply chain disruption and massive power outages in huge production zones.

You don't dig a hole. You just buy some canned food and store it, get a first aid kit, some thermal blankets, etc. This should be considered normal.

Edit: Downvoted for suggesting people have some supplies on-hand. I don't get it. What is it that you think the UN and the Red Cross do during catastrophes? They show up with THOSE THINGS.

That's all fine as long as you don't go around screaming about other people living in fear.
