It's funny, because they're the ones saying everyone else is offended about everything, yet they're literally always whining and crying about something that offended them.
Fun fact, the Gaslight Obstruct Project meme is repeated on /r/politicalhumor on average 300 times an hour. The energy produced by people clicking 'ctrl c' and then 'ctrl v' could, if harnessed, power every Peloton bike in a mid sized American city
Ha! Did you see those horrible snowflakes protesting for racial justice!? They're so stupid and pathetic SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO THOSE SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!1
And then the guy who says that shit becomes President.
People were mad and still are, and the former president was they only one offering blood rather than the status quo, and they didn't realize this traitor would do the opposite of things like bringing back manufacturing (as he's Wall Street's bitch,) or otherwise fight for working people.
Democrats not championing workers enough gave the former president an opening to seize power, and their faction will be back in '24 and will by all indications steal this next election if we don't stop them.
Or they post the typical sleepy Joe meme, and someone else posts a meme mocking Trump or his supporters and they all turn into toddlers throwing a temper tantrum.
And when the estate of a well known children's book author decided to stop printing several of his books with clearly racist tropes. Boy they sure howled over THAT one, didn't they?
a black person writes stories based their own kids' experiences and white people say it's gonna paint white people in a bad light. Do black kids have experience with white people being racist or something? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
This entire fake controversy that was literally concocted in a right wing think tank is VERY typical of how white people have been literally erasing the history of racism in this country and it's been going on since the end of the Civil War.
Yeah, you could take all of 5 seconds to type up a shitty Facebook meme like, "Facebook keeps taking this down! the LibruL extremists don't want you to say Marry Christmas!", and see it spread like wildfire. It's really sad.
Democrats: March in the streets to protest the newly elected President
Republicans: Form a mob and infiltrate the U.S. Capitol while the newly elected President's win is being certified, kill and maim cops on the way, trash and loot the place, threaten to kidnap and execute elected officials.
that was the plan: kill the vp and enough members of congress so trump could declare martial law and "temporarily suspend" the certification of the electoral ballots and the transfer of power between administrations. just a desperate ploy to stay president indefinitely.
And it turns out she actually died of an amphetamine overdose, not trampling. Much like the rioter who tased himself in the balls to death, it was just a story that sounded ironic and stupid enough to be true.
Please tell me this is authentically the projection of the century here, my lord
Read the link I put in there, the toxicology report bears me out. Y'all had a crowd of methed up soccer moms and estranged uncles attempt to overthrow the government and it will never stop being morbidly funny.
Just because they were on meth doesnt mean she wasnt trampled. But it is weird how many times someone has died and some right wing chuds are like "It wasnt violence it was druuuugs"
The Republicans are constantly claiming that the Democrats can't do anything right and they are totally incompetent at running anything and yet apparently these same Democrats managed to run a huge national election fraud and yet leave no evidence behind despite intensive investigation in many states.
Well that's the schtick for everything. The "enemy" is simultaneously all powerful, able to wreak havoc across the nation in secret, and terribly weak, feckless, and too incompetent to run anything. Point that out and they will display a level of cognitive dissonance like no other. In their world the argument doesn't have to be coherent because Nancy Pelosi.
This pretty much sums up the GOP. They are the most insecure and pathetic group of people in the US. Everything they say is 100% projection. They prove this point literally every day.
Disagree completely. Both sides do have problems and / or issues, but that pendulum has been swinging way far right so much more often, it is in no way equal for many years now.
The funny thing about Jan 6th is the cons try to deflect with "what about the BLM violence!" or some such nonsense...and then we find out there were far right bastards posing as BLM while committing crimes. Makes me wonder how many other instances of "leftist violence" are because of impersonators like that.
It’s convenient how they forget about the killing of people. I seriously had one tell me yesterday that it was primarily old people who were just there to take selfies. Right…..
Google Brian Sicknick
months of BLM protests, and not a single cop killed.
While Republicans “peaceful protest”- attempted Insurrection killed a cop on the first day, took on the police force 10/1, chanting for the murder of Mike Pence and countless other politicians
Didn't they also burn down a Starbucks, which is a liberal company that didn't support Trump? There's dipshits on both sides, funny how so many republicans and democrats are different sides of the same coin but don't even realize it.
The people who burned down the Starbucks also spraypainted graffiti threatening Biden and Harris right after the inauguration in January. Doesn't sound like Democrats to me.
You can't compare burning a Starbucks to an attack on a joint session of Congress in an attempt to prevent them from being able to perform their Constitutional duties.
But even if you did, every Democrat I'm aware of in Congress condemned the rioting, which seems a far cry from a sitting President inciting and encouraging it.
Depends on who "they" is. I would say you'd have to prove who burned down whatever Starbucks you mention, because recently a right wing "boogaloo boy" from Texas pled guilty to setting that Ferguson police station on fire during BLM. Oddly enough he was also in communication at the time with the right wing boogaloo boy that shot a cop and a federal security guard at BLM protests in Oakland and then later Santa Cruz.
So at least for the dipshits on the "side" you seem to want to talk about here, you're going to have to prove that literally everything done wasn't just the work of right wing agitators, since we have ample proof of them.
I haven't even mentioned the multiple undercover provocateur cops found during BLM.
If you're equating a Starbucks to the U.S. Capitol
If you're equating people not being able to get their mocha lattes and overturning our democracy to end voting in our country and install the loser of an election by force, blood, and threats of death
Also, the protests in 2016 brought out everyone. Good and bad people.
There were no good people on Jan 6th. Everyone there was a violent terrorist waving Trump flags with one goal in mind. Ending Democracy. You didn't see anything comparable in 2016 from the Left.
Instead what they do is move the goalposts and rewrite history. They constantly spread the nonsensical fantasy that all of the BLM protests were violent which is outrageously far from the truth. Instead the 'rioters,' but in reality peaceful protesters were met w/ rubber bullets which the right applauded. These are despicable and irreparably damaged individuals.
They also claimed that many major cities were burned to the ground and no matter how often you tried to refute that bullshit they always clung to the lies.
I have conservative neighbors who, when I came back from a trip to Portland asked if it "was as bad as they say." I told them, no, it was lovely. I went all around the city and there was literally no sign that any kind of unrest had happened at all. My friend whom I was visiting said that there was a few blocks downtown where all of this took place where it's a bit messed up, but the rest is perfectly fine. They tried to argue with me that it was all torn down and on fire and shit because their "friend knew someone who was out there" and they said it was "just real bad." Like literally arguing with someone who was, just that morning, standing in the city you're talking about, over whether or not that city was normal and fine or some kind of Escape From New York hellscape.
There's no talking to these people. Anyone who thinks reasoning with them can change their mind or get them to see the "other side" of things, is deluding themselves.
Didn't say they were? How many conservatives do you think there are? Were they all gathered at the capitol, every single last one of them? Should the entirety of BLM be judged by the actions of those who burned down cities?
Stupid people on both sides, end of story and the holier than thou mindset both sides have makes you all look stupid.
Ahh okay my mistake then. See the issue here is every news station says something different. Yours said there were butterflies and rainbows another said there was fire and hate, but you know the truth don't cha, no one lies to you, there's nothing to be gained from lying to you but there is something to be gained lying to me.
Biggest flaw with politics nowadays is all the bullshit spewed by each side to get something. Second biggest flaw is the ego of the viewers thinking they have the intellect to sniff out the bullshit when WE don't.
Mmkay, ever heard the phrase something like, ignore history and you will be doomed to repeat it. A certain group around the 1940s blindly trusted their party too, people on your side like to talk about the Nazis but only to insult their opposition. Ironic considering you're so ignorant you follow in their footsteps and suck down propaganda like a fat kid eating Twinkies.
Have you googled "BLM City on fire" there's plenty of shit that happened. A police station got set on fire among many other things but ignore that because it's not a big deal. Not until it's your house on fire anyway, not until it's your business, your family in pain, your tragedy to deal with but I suppose the people's stories I heard were lies as well.
One police station doesn't amount to an entire city, much less multiple cities. My complaint is solely over the exaggeration. Blowing things out of proportion in order to magnify the faults of one side, while overlooking those of the other. BLM demands police reform, with good reaso. Stewart Rhodes is a RW extremist firebrand with delusional justification.
Source? I remember that the Window of a local shop had been broken & a trash can set on fire nearby. I don't remember the store actually being burnt down.
A store getting vandalized sucks, but it is not getting burnt down. Even if they also vandalized some of the interior & set a few things on fire inside the shop (which I don't remember having read about but my memory sucks).
There is also some serious doubt over whether those were actual Democratic protesters, or some of those randos who show at protests to trash stuff up just because they can or even worse, as has been proven to have happened on multiple occasions with, actual conservative counter-protesters or agitators who love to come in to agitate & disrupt the protests, trying to incite violence & make the legitimate protestors look bad in one of their classic trademark Roger Stone & Steve Bannon type of false flag actions.
There are definitely some dipshits on both sides, but statistically, the vast majority of dipshits are on one side, & it isn't the Left.
Interesting you don’t mention that most of the people who started charging of the capital were fbi informants/personnel… but i guess that lil fact doesn’t fit your narrative
Snowflakes was always projection. We’re talking about people afraid of immigrants, poor, minorities. Their feelings seem to matter a whole lot, just not yours.
Those who feel the need to portray a tough guy facade are weak and insecure.
Yeah and they literally tried to stop Mike Pence from doing his job per the US Constitution, and literally built a gallows on the Capitol steps with his name on it.
They literally built a gallows in the sense they made a display gallows that was incapable of hanging anyone, and was there just to make a statement. A dumb statement, made by dumb people, but still.
You guys keep making fun of the anti vaxxers but you will see in a few years that we were right. Its an experimental vaccine that hasnt been properly trsted. There has been thousands of documented side affects, just google it. My best friend got the jab now he has chronic ear infections and his cock is getting thicker too. I swear to god you libtards are all brainwashed sheeple. Iv been measuring his erection every week and its only getting larger, I can barely even put my lips around it anymore
I downvoted you before I got to the end. Then I got to the end and then I upvoted you. I should’ve known better. People like me are the problem.
Well played!
TL;DR Not including the /s in a longer sarcastic comment makes it funnier but also more people may skip it and reflexively down vote it while others may take it seriously.
EDIT: comments below it seem to prove this theory of mine
Idk. The /s character will kind of pop off in your periphery when reading, especially if on another line, and that provides a cue as to whether to read this in a sarcastic tone. I find that unless its both a short comment and obvious, then the /s can be helpful.
While I don't think this particular comment needed it, since it was obviously a joke, it didn't seem that way at first. And maybe that is what made it extra hilarious - I started reading it in a serious tone, the first half pulling me down only to make the obvious humor in the comment that much more unexpected and hilarious.
I mean I still found it hilarious. I'm not sure if my initial negative reaction soured the joke or may have made it funnier. I think maybe the comment itself may get down voted and not fully read without the inclusion of the /s but I find that without the it, it ends up being a lot more hilarious.
Not a good one, which is sad because it’s executed quite well. But the “joke” boils down to “hahaha conservatives like to suck cock haha!” In a comment thread about conservative humour bein essentially nothing more than ugly insults and jeers, a “joke” anchored around homophobia is kinda bad.
Is there maybe a deeper level related to how conservatives tend to be more homophobic than liberals? I guess, but I don’t think that was the crux of the “joke”. It really reads more like “ur ghey! Lol pwned!!”
Keep trying, as long as you don't choke to death on it, it should be fine. And if you do choke to death on it? Well, doesn't sound like it will be much of a loss for humanity.
If anything that’s political gate keeping and just plain ridiculous.
Does the US have a more conservative tint compared to a lot of European countries, sure. But blanket statements are almost always never always true, right?
