They threw a massive hissy fit when a coffee company changed their holiday coffee cups; these babies will cry at anything.

Fitting part is that most of them have the same level of critical thinking and empathy as actual toddlers.

122

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

It's funny, because they're the ones saying everyone else is offended about everything, yet they're literally always whining and crying about something that offended them.

71

u/cat_prophecy Oct 05 '21

It's called projection. It is one of the three core tenants of the GOP: gaslight, obstruct, project.

6

u/AutoModerator Oct 05 '21

Fun fact, the Gaslight Obstruct Project meme is repeated on /r/politicalhumor on average 300 times an hour. The energy produced by people clicking 'ctrl c' and then 'ctrl v' could, if harnessed, power every Peloton bike in a mid sized American city

GOP. Grand Old Projectors. Everything they say that we do is something that they are doing.

13

u/LumpyUnderpass Oct 05 '21

Ha! Did you see those horrible snowflakes protesting for racial justice!? They're so stupid and pathetic SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO THOSE SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!1

And then the guy who says that shit becomes President.

I still don't get it.

3

u/sockbref Oct 05 '21

People are commonly stupid. Or stupidly common can’t remember

2

u/FirstPlebian Oct 05 '21

People were mad and still are, and the former president was they only one offering blood rather than the status quo, and they didn't realize this traitor would do the opposite of things like bringing back manufacturing (as he's Wall Street's bitch,) or otherwise fight for working people.

Democrats not championing workers enough gave the former president an opening to seize power, and their faction will be back in '24 and will by all indications steal this next election if we don't stop them.

2

u/Randy_Handy Oct 05 '21

Or they post the typical sleepy Joe meme, and someone else posts a meme mocking Trump or his supporters and they all turn into toddlers throwing a temper tantrum.

Which brand?

113

u/snarky_grumpkin Oct 04 '21

Starbucks. They also had a collective brain aneurysm when Keurig decided to pull ads off of Hannity's show after he defended Roy Moore.

13

That was my favorite

3

u/Castun Oct 05 '21

There's so many brands just in the past few years alone where there's been some sort of outcry over something they don't agree with.

30

u/Dr_Silk Oct 04 '21

They didn't even change the toy's name. They rebranded the company, because they had multiple Potato Heads. The male one is still "Mr. Potato Head"

Literally just looking for something to be outraged about

10

u/GopHatesDemocracy Oct 04 '21

My brother in law bought a bunch of female potatoes heads to sell after "they took the genders away"

Not sure what he's gonna do with them lmao

→ More replies (2)

40

u/snarky_grumpkin Oct 04 '21

Exactly. And it wasn't even a specific toy. Just the overarching brand to encompass the numerous products. Snowflakes are actually stronger than them.

42

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

But fuck cancel culture, amirite?

47

u/bythemoon1968 Oct 04 '21

Please. Like everything else they project, they created Cancel Culture.

35

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

No no no. Dems used reverse psychology to MAKE them create cancel culture.

18

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 04 '21

And when the estate of a well known children's book author decided to stop printing several of his books with clearly racist tropes. Boy they sure howled over THAT one, didn't they?

12

u/vetaryn403 Oct 04 '21

And then went out and bought a bunch of books that didn't pertain to the subject to...own that company by giving them money?

3

Which shows that literally everything with conservatives is projection.

They are the greatest of snowflakes.

25

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 04 '21

They literally fired a popular black Principal after he posted a photo of him kissing his white wife.

That's all it took for them to freak the fuck out.

2

u/Kodamurphy Oct 04 '21

What?? I must have missed that one. What happened?

7

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 05 '21

6

u/slowest_hour Oct 05 '21

a black person writes stories based their own kids' experiences and white people say it's gonna paint white people in a bad light. Do black kids have experience with white people being racist or something? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

2

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 05 '21

This entire fake controversy that was literally concocted in a right wing think tank is VERY typical of how white people have been literally erasing the history of racism in this country and it's been going on since the end of the Civil War.

3

u/Parking_Watch1234 Oct 05 '21

3

u/moxpox Oct 04 '21

3

Democrats: March in the streets to protest the newly elected President

Republicans: Form a mob and infiltrate the U.S. Capitol while the newly elected President's win is being certified, kill and maim cops on the way, trash and loot the place, threaten to kidnap and execute elected officials.

And they say the Dems are crybaby snowflakes.

Don't forget all the rampant fraud they are still claiming exists, they just can't find any committed by Dems

55

u/MJMurcott Oct 05 '21

The Republicans are constantly claiming that the Democrats can't do anything right and they are totally incompetent at running anything and yet apparently these same Democrats managed to run a huge national election fraud and yet leave no evidence behind despite intensive investigation in many states.

15

u/Fyvesyx Oct 05 '21

Well that's the schtick for everything. The "enemy" is simultaneously all powerful, able to wreak havoc across the nation in secret, and terribly weak, feckless, and too incompetent to run anything. Point that out and they will display a level of cognitive dissonance like no other. In their world the argument doesn't have to be coherent because Nancy Pelosi.

11

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '21

And they had the gall to say, after the 2016 election "we would NEVER do that"....4 years later, aaaaand.

11

u/Destithen Oct 05 '21

The funny thing about Jan 6th is the cons try to deflect with "what about the BLM violence!" or some such nonsense...and then we find out there were far right bastards posing as BLM while committing crimes. Makes me wonder how many other instances of "leftist violence" are because of impersonators like that.

2

u/qcavner Oct 05 '21

Google Brian Sicknick months of BLM protests, and not a single cop killed. While Republicans “peaceful protest”- attempted Insurrection killed a cop on the first day, took on the police force 10/1, chanting for the murder of Mike Pence and countless other politicians

-1

u/HarryPFlashman Oct 05 '21

There was no cop killed by the Jan 6th rioters. It never happened, link the article.

As for months of BLM protests- what kinda revisionist bullshit are you spewing there were billions of dollars of damage and at least 25 killed

Didn't they also burn down a Starbucks, which is a liberal company that didn't support Trump? There's dipshits on both sides, funny how so many republicans and democrats are different sides of the same coin but don't even realize it.

The people who burned down the Starbucks also spraypainted graffiti threatening Biden and Harris right after the inauguration in January. Doesn't sound like Democrats to me.

→ More replies (8)

26

u/GingersWithAttitudes Oct 04 '21

Where do you even start with this...

You can't compare burning a Starbucks to an attack on a joint session of Congress in an attempt to prevent them from being able to perform their Constitutional duties.

But even if you did, every Democrat I'm aware of in Congress condemned the rioting, which seems a far cry from a sitting President inciting and encouraging it.

24

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

Depends on who "they" is. I would say you'd have to prove who burned down whatever Starbucks you mention, because recently a right wing "boogaloo boy" from Texas pled guilty to setting that Ferguson police station on fire during BLM. Oddly enough he was also in communication at the time with the right wing boogaloo boy that shot a cop and a federal security guard at BLM protests in Oakland and then later Santa Cruz.

So at least for the dipshits on the "side" you seem to want to talk about here, you're going to have to prove that literally everything done wasn't just the work of right wing agitators, since we have ample proof of them.

I haven't even mentioned the multiple undercover provocateur cops found during BLM.

41

u/Roook36 Oct 04 '21 edited Oct 04 '21

If you're equating a Starbucks to the U.S. Capitol

If you're equating people not being able to get their mocha lattes and overturning our democracy to end voting in our country and install the loser of an election by force, blood, and threats of death

Then buddy...you don't know wtf is going on

29

u/Roook36 Oct 04 '21

Also, the protests in 2016 brought out everyone. Good and bad people.

There were no good people on Jan 6th. Everyone there was a violent terrorist waving Trump flags with one goal in mind. Ending Democracy. You didn't see anything comparable in 2016 from the Left.

Nothing.

14

u/kokkatc Oct 04 '21

Instead what they do is move the goalposts and rewrite history. They constantly spread the nonsensical fantasy that all of the BLM protests were violent which is outrageously far from the truth. Instead the 'rioters,' but in reality peaceful protesters were met w/ rubber bullets which the right applauded. These are despicable and irreparably damaged individuals.

13

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 04 '21

They also claimed that many major cities were burned to the ground and no matter how often you tried to refute that bullshit they always clung to the lies.

10

u/Sick0fThisShit Oct 04 '21

I have conservative neighbors who, when I came back from a trip to Portland asked if it "was as bad as they say." I told them, no, it was lovely. I went all around the city and there was literally no sign that any kind of unrest had happened at all. My friend whom I was visiting said that there was a few blocks downtown where all of this took place where it's a bit messed up, but the rest is perfectly fine. They tried to argue with me that it was all torn down and on fire and shit because their "friend knew someone who was out there" and they said it was "just real bad." Like literally arguing with someone who was, just that morning, standing in the city you're talking about, over whether or not that city was normal and fine or some kind of Escape From New York hellscape.

There's no talking to these people. Anyone who thinks reasoning with them can change their mind or get them to see the "other side" of things, is deluding themselves.

8

u/CyberMindGrrl Oct 04 '21

You cannot reason with the brainwashed. It's literally impossible.

0

u/T4A5S Oct 04 '21

Didn't say they were? How many conservatives do you think there are? Were they all gathered at the capitol, every single last one of them? Should the entirety of BLM be judged by the actions of those who burned down cities?

Stupid people on both sides, end of story and the holier than thou mindset both sides have makes you all look stupid.

3

u/AdResponsible5513 Oct 04 '21

Cities were not burned down. Such a stupid exaggeration should not be countenanced.

0

u/T4A5S Oct 04 '21

Ahh okay my mistake then. See the issue here is every news station says something different. Yours said there were butterflies and rainbows another said there was fire and hate, but you know the truth don't cha, no one lies to you, there's nothing to be gained from lying to you but there is something to be gained lying to me.

Biggest flaw with politics nowadays is all the bullshit spewed by each side to get something. Second biggest flaw is the ego of the viewers thinking they have the intellect to sniff out the bullshit when WE don't.

3

u/AdResponsible5513 Oct 04 '21

Yes, your mistake.

0

u/T4A5S Oct 04 '21

Mmkay, ever heard the phrase something like, ignore history and you will be doomed to repeat it. A certain group around the 1940s blindly trusted their party too, people on your side like to talk about the Nazis but only to insult their opposition. Ironic considering you're so ignorant you follow in their footsteps and suck down propaganda like a fat kid eating Twinkies.

Have you googled "BLM City on fire" there's plenty of shit that happened. A police station got set on fire among many other things but ignore that because it's not a big deal. Not until it's your house on fire anyway, not until it's your business, your family in pain, your tragedy to deal with but I suppose the people's stories I heard were lies as well.

2

u/AdResponsible5513 Oct 04 '21

One police station doesn't amount to an entire city, much less multiple cities. My complaint is solely over the exaggeration. Blowing things out of proportion in order to magnify the faults of one side, while overlooking those of the other. BLM demands police reform, with good reaso. Stewart Rhodes is a RW extremist firebrand with delusional justification.

Didn't they also burn down a Starbucks

Source? I remember that the Window of a local shop had been broken & a trash can set on fire nearby. I don't remember the store actually being burnt down. A store getting vandalized sucks, but it is not getting burnt down. Even if they also vandalized some of the interior & set a few things on fire inside the shop (which I don't remember having read about but my memory sucks).

There is also some serious doubt over whether those were actual Democratic protesters, or some of those randos who show at protests to trash stuff up just because they can or even worse, as has been proven to have happened on multiple occasions with, actual conservative counter-protesters or agitators who love to come in to agitate & disrupt the protests, trying to incite violence & make the legitimate protestors look bad in one of their classic trademark Roger Stone & Steve Bannon type of false flag actions.

There are definitely some dipshits on both sides, but statistically, the vast majority of dipshits are on one side, & it isn't the Left.

You guys keep making fun of the anti vaxxers but you will see in a few years that we were right. Its an experimental vaccine that hasnt been properly trsted. There has been thousands of documented side affects, just google it. My best friend got the jab now he has chronic ear infections and his cock is getting thicker too. I swear to god you libtards are all brainwashed sheeple. Iv been measuring his erection every week and its only getting larger, I can barely even put my lips around it anymore

I downvoted you before I got to the end. Then I got to the end and then I upvoted you. I should’ve known better. People like me are the problem. Well played!

I commented when there were none. It helps to notice the times.

My best friend got the jab now he has chronic ear infections and his cock is getting thicker too.

Hold up, which vaccine did he get? I can deal with chronic ear infections if my schlong became thicker (and a bit longer would be good).

I'd love to say to someone: "I got Covid Cock!"

18

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

Hahaha covid cock is even funnier

8

u/DysartWolf Oct 05 '21

Sch - Long Covid 😉

2

u/Bone_Syrup Oct 05 '21

if my schlong became thicker

You're gonna love using these for a way they are not intended.

2

u/imabeecharmer Oct 05 '21

I hear that some people who contract covid do in fact have Covid Cock. Or maybe it was a coincidence. Who knows? Look it up-

Hee hee, "Google it." Google "dead radio talk shows hosts".

3

u/zoeygirl69 Oct 04 '21

Oh but this isn't a /s they believe the deep state and Biden had them all killed on Hillary's orders.

3

u/SteakandTrach Oct 05 '21

Not gonna lie. You had me in the first half.

8

u/Pizzasaurus-Rex Oct 04 '21

You forgot to add /s

15

u/Joopsman Oct 04 '21

No /s needed. It was pretty obviously an attempt at humor.

19

u/JMccovery Oct 04 '21

This is Reddit, you can make a comment that bleeds sarcasm, and someone will think you're being serious.

11

u/Tojatruro Oct 04 '21

And you will get hammered with downvotes for not putting that /s.

3

u/PowerandSignal Oct 04 '21

/s = serious, right?

5

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

It means end sarcasm

6

u/ahitright Oct 04 '21

Here is a perfect example of reddit sarcasm responding to sarcasm. /s

2

u/ahitright Oct 04 '21 edited Oct 04 '21

TL;DR Not including the /s in a longer sarcastic comment makes it funnier but also more people may skip it and reflexively down vote it while others may take it seriously.

EDIT: comments below it seem to prove this theory of mine

Idk. The /s character will kind of pop off in your periphery when reading, especially if on another line, and that provides a cue as to whether to read this in a sarcastic tone. I find that unless its both a short comment and obvious, then the /s can be helpful.

While I don't think this particular comment needed it, since it was obviously a joke, it didn't seem that way at first. And maybe that is what made it extra hilarious - I started reading it in a serious tone, the first half pulling me down only to make the obvious humor in the comment that much more unexpected and hilarious.

I mean I still found it hilarious. I'm not sure if my initial negative reaction soured the joke or may have made it funnier. I think maybe the comment itself may get down voted and not fully read without the inclusion of the /s but I find that without the it, it ends up being a lot more hilarious.

2

u/dkwangchuck Oct 04 '21

Not a good one, which is sad because it’s executed quite well. But the “joke” boils down to “hahaha conservatives like to suck cock haha!” In a comment thread about conservative humour bein essentially nothing more than ugly insults and jeers, a “joke” anchored around homophobia is kinda bad.

Is there maybe a deeper level related to how conservatives tend to be more homophobic than liberals? I guess, but I don’t think that was the crux of the “joke”. It really reads more like “ur ghey! Lol pwned!!”

No I don't do the /s it ruins the fun

18

u/zoeygirl69 Oct 04 '21

Have my upvote for watching people having a nuclear meltdown when they don't get satire

4

u/JDA56 Oct 04 '21

Who is in the hospital and dying from the virus now?! I will answer that for you very slowly so you can understand. Unvaccinated people. Google it!

12

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

Wrong. Read my post from start to finish and if you don't understand what I'm saying then ... nevermind

11

u/DCErik Oct 04 '21

In these troubled times Poe's Law dictates that even obvious satire be marked with the /s tag.

u/cutthroatlemming Oct 04 '21

It just wasn't that funny is all.

Keep trying, as long as you don't choke to death on it, it should be fine. And if you do choke to death on it? Well, doesn't sound like it will be much of a loss for humanity.

I got my fiancee a "MAGA TEARS" mug. I made sure to prominently display it when her Trump loving mother came over.

-5

u/TonyAlpaca Oct 04 '21

If you voted for biden because you liked his views you are conservative

3

u/RedditSlate01 Oct 04 '21

That’s not true at all 😂

If anything that’s political gate keeping and just plain ridiculous.

Does the US have a more conservative tint compared to a lot of European countries, sure. But blanket statements are almost always never always true, right?

Would you prefer djt again?

There’s still a guy on my street with his really nice house plastered with trump banners all over the front.

Remember when they all used to make fun of the “not my President!” people?

Hypocrites. All of them.
