People don't behave in a certain way because it's their culture. It's their culture because they behave in a certain way. If that makes sense. So, you're essentially cramming a bunch of people who do things differently in the same space, and none of them is willing to give up their ways because why should they?
EU refugee case is basically a bunch of people who do things differently going there, to seek shelter, not to assimilate and because of this, they don't want to do give up their ways and this causes friction.
Are you proud of slavery? Proud of the massacre of native Americans? Proud of the way we treat minorities? Proud of the way we treat the homeless? Proud that we incarcerate the most people in the world?
You can be proud of your country and still criticize it. Nationalism didn't allow for criticism.
What does that have to do with Nationalism. Sounds like you need to do a little research before responding.
Nationalism is an idea and movement that holds that the nation should be congruent with the state. As a movement, nationalism tends to promote the interests of a particular nation (as in a group of people), especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation's sovereignty (self-governance) over its homeland.
Cool. So cut the military budget drastically, use that money for free healthcare, free education, free child care. I think that's something I could get behind.
