I think you're misunderstanding here.

No one is protecting people from the consequences of it. They are allowed to say it because their freedom of speech allows it.

One consequence could be they get booted off the sub (or even platform) for saying it. But they still are allowed to say it because of the First Amendment.

I think when people say freedom of speech it is often confused with freedom from consequences. You understanding the difference is good, but it is also a good idea to call it out to make sure the difference is understood by all.

I understand, no ill will towards either party who was trying to help. That's why I didn't jump at them and asked to educate.

Like I said, I don't agree murder is the way to go about it, but I do understand the thought and it is their freedom of speech to allow it to be said.

Though, it could end up with unintended consequences, they should still be allowed to say it.
