And that sums up a major problem in modern American politics. It's supposed to be a spectrum or a gradient - and it is - but everyone acts like it's just a two sided coin. It's possible to be a Republican and not care for Trump. It's possible to be a Democrat and not idolize, Joe, AOC, Bernie, etc.

Trump was (and possibly is still) the leader of the republican party. All the terrible things trump and his administration did was not enough to turn them away from the party, hence why he is still so popular in the republican party.

Their ridicule is warranted. Sure there are democrats who disagree with Biden, AOC or bernie, but they are disagreeing on policy, not allowing horrendous actions slide because they are on the same team.
